Anyone want to go egg the center point office with me? I got 2 dozen that I’m sure is about to go bad.

I'm not blaming anyone for the power outages.
You take the good and bad when you have tall trees next to powerlines… I'd rather us have tall, beautiful trees then not...

I have a lot less trees around my house than I did 48 hours ago.
All of our power is below ground but we are still out.

the frequency of the events and the continued poor response is not a good look.
I wonder if this is going to be a catalyst for people to move to other cities/states.

Does anyone in your neighborhood have power? Can you trace the issue back to anything?

Houston has avoided high wind storms and Ice since Ike really.
May cleared out the north loop which is why I got power but the rest of town had a ton of prime targets for a hurricane

Unlike the derecho, which within a few hours there were crews out surveying, I haven’t seen a single utility truck anywhere in heights or greater heights
Just say a couple down 18th

It’s a 3rd floor unit and the power is out there
Ended up getting one of those 1400 predator quiet generators from harbor freight to charge my freezer with my deer meat. I have an icy breeze cooler to have ac when I sleep.
How long of an extension cord do you need to run a generator to a 3rd floor unit?

Entergy Louisiana today…
Entergy Texas is pretty good at shitting the bed as well. The entire woodlands is out of power except for the small area around the med center which they never let go down. My village (Alden bridge) is on the same grid as Carlton woods where all the rich people live (including an entergy board member) so we usually get power back pretty quick but I don’t think it’s happening this time.
We had to flee to Austin at the last minute last night to catch a flight because our flight out of IAH cancelled. As we drove 290 I saw crew trucks all over the place from brenham to giddings parked or heading towards Houston which tells me the power companies were woefully underprepared and didn’t adapt as the forecast shifted and didn’t reallocate crews to where they needed to go.

Getting the frick outta here. I'm not waiting 5+ days for these frickers to figure out how to get the power back on. Last night slept in a pool of my sweat. Houston needs to get its act together. This is happening too much.

does Centerpoint have an outage map? I don't see it on their website, like the one Entergy has.

I have two trees running clear across my street. CP isn’t going to touch them anytime soon. Kind of surprised no one has taken a chainsaw to it actually just so traffic can pass through.

They used to... It worked for about the first day of the Deracho and has been missing ever since.
I will say, at least their texts alerts are working this go round.

It’s been down since morning but haven’t checked it again. Same with Derecho, it was hit or miss
@ the guy traveling on 290. That’s welcome news you’re seeing the lineman trucks headed this way
