Looks like a particularly bad day to be driving north on I49 to Texarkana.

Is it common for hurricanes to produce tornadoes like this?

Some places south of Shreveport have probably been under a tornado warning for over three hours now. The training band just leads to one warning after another.

It isn't uncommon, though Barrel is an overachiever.

There aren't great records for tropical system related tornadoes because they haven't always been counted in tornado numbers. I think it was with Camille that they started trying to account for them, but it hasn't always been a thorough process even after Camille

I said earlier I’ve lived in this area my whole life and a hurricane moving through has never popped tornados like today. NWS Shreveport set a record for number of tornado warnings issued in one day today.

This outbreak will probably be one that is studied because they're going to be able to accurately survey these. There won't be much conflict between tornado vs hurricane wind damage in these areas.

My wife asked if she should go to a friend’s house in southwest Bienville parish for a play date for the 4 year old this morning because Facebook said there were going to be a lot of tornados. I told her Facebook was full of shite and it would just be a rain and light wind event like all the other storms.

I have to go pick them up in about an hour and I’m terrified of the mood on the drive home.

July/August tornadoes don’t seem very common in general, at least in Arkansas.

Well made out the back side of Beryl. Just tree damage and a lot of cleaning up to do.

Might be throwing a neighborhood cookout tomorrow if we don’t get power back.

Hang in their buddy my heart goes out to you. Went through that During Harvey a couple days before the hurricane even landed. Had one go through our street. Praying for all in harms way.
