I work in underwear, so that would be a huge step up.

Is that your only shtick on here? It's south LA dude. You can be a 6' tall 90# man and you are going to sweat in 98 degrees and 89% humidity.

With the full on jacket and socks high like that? What’s the point of the jacket and the rest of it being standard solid navy blue, are they trying to keep warm? Just scrap the rest of the suit and wear a polo shirt and sperrys. Since you say people from The Caribbean do this, I’ll chalk it up to geographic ignorance on my part, like the ways people on other parts of the nation humiliate themselves trying to boil crawfish

This makes zero sense. The entire planet wears pants and always has.

Meh, it was mostly breechcloths and wrapped robes in tropical areas. Leg protection at times. Pants were mostly developed with the advent of horse riding around the globe. Pants and sport coats make no common sense in hot areas of the globe. Just became a social norm, mostly thanks to the spread of the Europeans.

Same thing with the coat. Nix it if you're gonna take it off and have a huge sweat spot on your shirt.
