I think we work in a similar field and I kind of feel this way too. I can do 95% of my job remotely but there are some things that work better face to face. Ideally, I'd like to go in 2-3 days per week. I get pretty stir crazy being in the house all day too.

Most of my last job was checking e-mails, writing contracts, writing RFPs, RFQs, drafting bid packages, working on project estimates. I could do it all from a laptop.
New job I'm on CAD a lot more, can't do that as easily. I'm also on site a lot more, can't do that from home.

Less distractions and no commute are the biggies to me, plus generally being more rested and comfortable.
I find I work longer hours and get more done at home than in the office.

My wife works from home and loves it. Shes currently approved through the end of October. I did it for two weeks when quarantined and hated it.

Yeah, I am way more efficient with multiple monitors, big copiers, and being able to whip around on the server and email at work. I can do the work at home, but it's a little bit of a PITA.

The server is what I miss.
Without the server, I dont have the bulk printer. And any serious work on my laptop (gold disk. Hardware issues) has to go to an office 2 hours away to log into a server.
That said, with wfh I can put in 8 to 12 hours a day and still get to see the family at almost any moment throughout the day.

Obvious benefits have already been stated, one thing I’ll add is that working at home is actually more conducive to being better at my job.
I service clients throughout the country, so if an important client emails me at 6:30 at night, I don’t mind hopping on my computer to draft a quick response, rather than letting it sit til morning. When prospecting a new client, this is extremely important.
Prior to this, my office hours were 7:30a-4p, with a 45 min commute each way. Now I typically work from 6a-8a, then take about 2.5hr break to workout, eat shower, get back on the computer and follow up anything that needs to be done. That’s usually an hour or so then I’ll step out to run any necessary errands. I’ll finish up my day working for an hour or 2 in the late afternoon or evening. I really love the flexibility to work “on demand”.
