It's just furthering pussification of youth

You should never have to hear a word you don't like

You are going to get a trophy just try hard

Well the teacher let him say "frick" a bunch of times, so maybe he's kinda cool.

You could just as easily say this to the kid who was throwing a tantrum.

What are your thoughts on discussing the n-word in a responsible discussion about taboo terms in society?.

I think it can/should be discussed. You also have to know you're audience. The young man in the first video was clearly upset and the teacher kept pushing him. If you're a parents, and you see an adult antagonizing your child, would you like that? This isn't even his real teacher. This could be any issue.

The sub come off as stubborn and the young man really could articulate his perspective well, and the teacher played on that. That's predatory. Do that to an adult in a bar, but my God not a kid

If the tables were turned and some white kid was dropping the F bomb at some teacher for having a discussion about the appropriate use of the term "white trash" or "trailer trash" my comments would be similar, if not harsher.

Wow, you really want it to be the same thing, i know, but it's not.

I'd like to offer a hypothetical scenario, because I don't think many white people in America have really thought about what it would have been like if things were reversed.

Picture this: For over 200 years, say from the 1650's to 1860's, black Africans are sending ships over to white America and purchasing whites in large numbers to bring back to Africa to use as free laborers. These white slaves (honkies to the blacks) are your ancestors - your great-great grandparents were slaves, there parents before them were slaves, and so-on - all slaves to the black man. Eventually, a war breaks out in Africa because the northern African countries have gone industrial and the southern African countries still rely on crops run by white slaves. Now, whites are emancipated but several generations have suffered physical and mental abuse, rape, lack of education, you name it. And, though manumitted, whites really aren't free. The blacks have all the power and the whites still aren't allowed to vote, they can't attend the same schools with the blacks, they can't use the same restrooms, and black supremacist groups continue to strike fear into the white community with public lynchings and other abuses. Now fast forward just 50 or 60 years and we are in present day. Things have changed greatly in Africa as white and black civil rights leaders have pushed for whites to be treated as equals and to have the same opportunities as blacks. Some whites have overcome the odds, received a great education, and have thrived financially. There are still a lot of blacks throughout Africa that see whites as no good animals and criminals that need to go back to there country and think the world would be better off without whites. Many whites are bitter that the blacks enslaved their ancestors and now many want to act like everything should be fine and the whites need to stop whining and just shut up about all of race stuff. Now the blacks see that the whites have taken the word honky that black slaveowners used to make the whites feel less than human and they are just using it left and right, basically to mean "friend," so the blacks say, hey, now we can start saying honky again, Yay!! But the whites don't like hearing the blacks use the word honky because when they say it, it is a reminder of the terrible times that the blacks used the word to keep the white man down. Still, today, many blacks in the southern half of Africa wish the South would have won the war and allowed the south to be there own nation where whites could still be enslaved. Still, many blacks use the word honky with their friends and families to refer to whites as a lesser race than blacks.

Do you still think white people should be using the "N" word?

It's easy to say that assuming you don't have ancestors that were brutalized, maimed, raped and murdered over that very same word. I am sorry, but the n word is loaded and all of that is contained in it. He is also still maturing. We don't know how that kid will feel about it in 10-20 years.

I wouldn't personally use it.

I honestly have no idea what my ancestor went through.

Teacher could have done it differently possibly. But isn't part of maturing process learning not to lose your shite?

I don't think my teachers would have let anybody of any color say that so not sure is this progress.

So is "Jew" but you don't see them losing their shite over it do you?

I guarantee more Jews have been murdered because they're Jewish.

I'm sure you are greatly venerated for your original thoughts, and were at 16 years old as well.

We would never hear people like you repeat what they hear from the pundits of say, Fox News, would we?

Right, because the word was acceptable in the 70's, 80's, and 90's. Walk up to a black cop and call him the word. See how that works for you

I had teachers challenge my thoughts and I grew

But let's lower expectations for this kid who appears to have something going for him

I don't use the word. He wouldn't do shite. Not bc he is a pussy or might white privilege, but because of his professionalism.

But congrats on the soft racism that black cops are easily triggered

Dude I just saw an adult get joy out of making a kid upset...and adult that couldn't speak to the dynamics of the world and literally didn't consider that this was a young man. He can't speak to the power of that word and the affect it may have on some when they hear it. It's okay to listen and to be taught by others. A little bit of humility and recognition that you don't have it all figured out goes a long way.

I'm supposed to back a dirtbag like that? It has nothing to do with bias and everything with compassion and respecting others.

You could have just said the kid diddn du nuffin
