So according to some students on twitter, he was quoting an athlete at the school that said it (actually "****") and it prompted a discussion on why there is a double standard with the word.
If that's the case, I'm not sure using the word in quote to foster a discussion on it's place in society is grounds for dismissal. Ben Franklin is an exceptional school and should welcome these discussions. Obviously, the situation would be different if the teacher used it in any type of derogatory fashion.
I wonder what class this is and whether it was relevant to the topic being taught.

One of my main pet peeves in the world is idiots not knowing what racism is.
For the most part, especially in Louisiana, HBCUs are worthless from a degree standpoint.
It is not unreasonable to project that someone so overly sensitive about race may choose to attend a predominantly black college.
None of those comments are racist.
If the tables were turned and some white kid was dropping the F bomb at some teacher for having a discussion about the appropriate use of the term "white trash" or "trailer trash" my comments would be similar, if not harsher.
I seriously don't know how some of you make it out in the cold cruel world.
