I just don't see how men can live with themselves having a belly overhang. Eat right and lose some weight.

I take with this comment, you're single, without kids...

Side note, that dude has a gut, but there's much worse...

I only ask because I'm ignorant but what about having a partner and children makes you fat? Are you saying that once you have these things you get to give up on your body?

Well my grandmother used to say about someone that put on weight “well he looks married.”

I’m married with two kids and I run marathons and lift heavy weights three times a week.

Family life should inspire you to be better not worse.

In lost weight after getting married and having kids but I can see how it happens. You basically have no free time when you have little kids which means typically less time to work out and worse diet habits.

You come in from work dog tired then have to deal with whatever shite is going on at home. Neither you or spouse has time or energy to make a healthy meal so it's fast food. And finding time to exercise? When?

That's the headwind you're facing. You can overcome it, and a lot of people do. But it takes a commitment. And it's easy to let things slide until you step on the scale one morning and find you've gained 20 pounds.

You're right, and so what if you gain an extra 20 pounds....so long as you don't let it get worse and worse...one day you will have more time to get to the gym and can get in better shape again. You'll have plenty of time when the kids are out of the house. There's lots of dudes in the gym that are 40s-50s and many of them fit this profile. You should at least strive to put a cap on weight gain and e mindful of your diet once you hit that dad bod stage. The dude in op pic has an extra 100 pounds and his kid still looks very young...he is beyond dad bod and it's not likely he will come back from the stage he's reached.

Some of y’all...are lazy assclowns.

“But we’re tired after a long day!”

Wake your bitch arse up early and workout before you go to your job.

“We’re too tired to cook so it’s fast food!”

Meal prep on Sundays you lazy assholes.

No wonder wives cheat and want a divorce in their forties.

It’s inexcusable to let yourself get like that. Put the cookies down and get a piece of fruit.

Y’all are soft bitches.

Signed, a married 41 yr old with two kids who works out six days a week and meal preps on Sundays.

Looks like a typical working middle class American dad.

I salute him.
