Do you have evidence to back up that claim?

Exactly. The guys is trying to save his business and he has to get everyone's crap out so he can treat his buildings before they start molding and making things worse.

Its not an ideal situation but he has to do what he has to do.

I had one outside New Orleans do this after Katrina. He was trying to clear them all out so he can rent them to flood victims for triple the price.

He was a raging a-hole and obviously didn't understand the contract, but many people were scared and followed his orders.

I actually had the owner arrested by the St. Charles parish police. I moved my stuff out at my convenience a couple months later (as I wasn't going to give him money anymore).

Storage centers is the name of it. Giving people a week to get thier shite out is just wrong. Some of these people are out of town or in shelters. The buildings are metal only thing that needs to removed is insulation it needs to be done but not in a week. Again this guy owns 20 storage places not going to go broke giving people a chance to go through thier stuff.

It's not the metal building he is worried about. It's all the people's moldy couches and beds sitting in his storage center making the entire storage center unusable. He can't even rent out vacant storage units due to people's moldy shite in the unit next door as is.

So what evidence do you have that his motive is to get people out so he can charge 3X the price? I doubt you have any but making up shite so people can run with it like they already have done in this thread.

Also when it's all said and done and he starts renting more units, he has a right to rent them for whatever he wants. It's called free market capitalism. And I applaud it.

Unless the structure has been deemed unsafe, he should have to give everyone 30 days. I could be wrong, I'm just going by home rental contracts.

He'll most likely let you return at your current rate.

The ones that don't come back will get jacked up. If I had to bet, he knows that and is hoping y'all don't return.

I never said this a fact

I said I was going to call and check prices to see if he was bumping up the prices. If he is doing this, it is legal but I will make sure everyone knows what he is doing so he can reap the ill will that comes with it.

I'm pretty sure that is a-hole for "I'm a cocksucker, please punch me in the throat".

I will have to check my Rosetta Stone to be sure, but I'm pretty fluent in a-hole.

Not fluent in A-hole, but my Prickeneze-to-English app, translates it as "Repeatedly give to my face your sweatsock full of nickles".

I was there this morning throwing away all of my shite when I had other things I needed to focus on. No place to park, and definitely no place for a trailer. Place was a nightmare. They will refund your money though for the month. But yeah frick that guy.

You people think he should risk serious mold issues because some people can't figure out a way to get their stuff?

Thing to do was give you a notice and if available another place for your stuff if you do choose.

I'd give you a deadline because people need good, clean units.
