When I was a teenager, I used to ride Greyhound from Baton Rouge to Houston during the summers. Took like 6 1/2 hours for the trip due to frequent stops.

Had one baw escorted off the bus in lake charles after getting into a fight with this other dude. He threatened to blow up the bus.

Another time, I left Houston to get to Baton Rouge and the bus broke down near orange, Texas. Spent five hours sitting still at the station. Took me 12 hours to get home.

Like $50 from Bham to Montgomery, more than renting a car for sure but not with one way fees I guess.

I used to ride the bus all the time from B'ham to Montgomery and back when I was a kid to visit my grandparents.

My mom use to load me and my brother on a greyhound bus ( NO) to Cape canaveral to watch the blast off Gemini and Apollo spacecrafts. 16 hours of living hell. Great memories.

I took it once in college, going up to New York from DC.

The bathroom door was broken and would swing back and forth, wafting the smell of urine down the aisle.

I've ridden one before. I can't stand hearing people snore. You can't relax.

If you don’t book your ticket pretty well in advance it’s actually not that cheap.

I've tried many times to book something for the experience and I'm always shocked at how expensive it is. The one time u had a trip ready I ended up finding a flight for less.

I rode the “Chinatown bus” between several cities in the northeast. Probably shadier than greyhound.

I rode from NOLA to Shreveport in the 80s. It cost me around $14 and was a 10 hour trip. One and done.

Yeah that’s why I did it and you are absolutely right. I mean for $100 you can find a discount airfare half way across the country. I rode up with my girlfriend for Christmas break and then took the greyhound back after a couple of days. Well in advance something like Bham to Montgomery is like $24 but it can be like $100 last minute. I think I paid like $70 from Nashville to Montgomery 15+ years ago. Who knows what it is now.

You know most those peeps aren’t planning ahead. So almost $50/ head with busses that hold 50 people is a damn good profit margin.

Here’s the other part of the experience, the terminals or stops or whatever are always in the shitty party of town. Makes sense.

My 2 trips were everything and more that I’d ever expect it to be.

On at least 2 occasions desperate women try to suggest sexual favors for free tickets.

Helped a lady in a wheelchair get on the bus, reeked of piss. Had to rise the bus like that all the way to Shreveport. She was elderly, wasn't going to kick her off.

About 75% of he time, motherfrickets are lying to you for free tickets. 90% of the time they are the reason they got kicked off the bus.

20% of passengers are good people. 80% are criminals, junkies, scum bags, mental and trash.

Greyhound did away with the Civil Sheriff because they didnt want to pay for it, not because they were merciful and didnt want ruthless Enforcement.

Even as City Manager in order to save on Monthly budget of Hours. You will also sale tickets, work bags and clean buses.

Greyhound doesn't give a frick about your missing bag and will do almost nothing to look for it. Refer to the almost 2 warehouses full of peoples luggage in Dallas.

Greyhound is a shell of its former self. It's the courier for the underbelly of society.

Also, the major cities move around their homeless exclusively thru Greyhound.

Also running a Greyhound Station made me realize that hourly employees shouldn't be working at a retail location for more than 10 years. Their employees are the most entitled mother frickers, which is why they should always be young and not be retirement age. You work hourly at 10 years, your arse better be working to be Management.

Used to ride it when I was younger. It's not too bad. Meet some interesting people.

The routes usually suck arse though with all of the stops.

I rode one from Dallas to Abilene, TX. Only stopped in Fort Worth in between so it didn't take too long.
