I remember playing Battle and Rummy and other card games with my grandparents when I was as young as 5 or 6 years old.

Of course classics like UNO, Sorry, Yahtzee were played as well!

Such fun times with my grandparents, RIP

I think about my grandparents at random times and really miss them. It’s usually related to my son and how I wish they were there to see what’s he’s doing in life. Grandparents are such a blessing.

I miss em. Then I remember how much of a circus this nation is in 2023 and I’m kinda thankful that they died at the start of the pandemic. Because they’d have been supremely depressed at what’s happened.

I was very close to my mom’s mom and we ended up living next door to her. I still think about her all the time.

I have a recurring dream from time to time where by Granny comes and see's me and tells me that everything will be ok and to trust my instincts. Every time I have this dream, there is something in the coming days where I will be put in a spot.

I miss her dearly.

I really only knew one of my grandparents, the others were either dead or died when I was very young. I still miss them from time to time though. Had some great memories of my grandmother when I was young.

My maternal grandmother was in incredible lady. When I stayed with her I would get up at 5a to help her with breakfast and farm chores, she would tell me about the old days. She was a survivor.

My grandfather passed about a week ago. I still feel I can just call him up and ask some questions.

I wasn't particularly close to my mom's parents but my dad's were like a 2nd set of parents to me.

My last grandparent died in 2018 at 99. The others have been gone for quite some time.

I wish I'd have really known my grandparents. I am the youngest on both sides of the family born to the youngest of their families, so my grandparents were dead or pretty old by the time I had the ability to form lasting memories. All I have are stories and pictures. By all accounts they were great people, but I'll never know them.

Most of us don't really grow up, we just get older. I still feel like I'm much younger, the mirror just disagrees.

Attachment and responsibility for that attachment are the main culprits of adulthood that suck. I think as we get older, we get rid of a lot of the things we were attached to and give more attention to those that matter.

Hang out with kids and dogs as much as possible.

I’m a bit jealous reading about everyone’s grandparents, never really knew any of mine, but happy for those of you who did.

Barely knew one of my grandfathers. My moms dad died when she was 11. Survived WWII to die in a bridge collapse at home.

My grandmother worked two shifts to make ends meet after he died, my mom raised her 5 siblings and ran the farm, while being the captain of the girls basketball team and also a NHS student. Top of her class.

Both my grandmother and mom were stoic, incredible women. Life today is so easy.

My family apparently likes to have kids young because I remember my grandparents being in their 40's. I was 12 when one of my grandmother's turned 50. One of my great grandmothers died when I was 8 and the other one when I was in my 30's. We used to do family get-togethers and one year, my 60 year old great grandmother is playing kickball with us. My dad's parents had a total of 26 grandchildren and didn't miss anything for any of us.

I spent many summers at my grandparents. Mainly cutting grass and painting but I'd go back to that in a heartbeat.

All my Grandparents have been gone 20+ years. They were all Greatest Generation or older and would be horrified at what this country has become.

One of my earliest political memories is of my Grandma muttering "Damn Democrats" during the Watergate hearings. She blamed the dems for everything (she was a smart lady), but during Watergate she wasn't mad at them because they were going after Nixon, rather because the hearings were interrupting her afternoon "stories".

I played all those games with my Granny and marbles. I used to love playing marbles with her and of course she always had the treats.
She also had no room for misbehavior. She was the oldest of 10 siblings and helped raise all of them along with raising my mom and aunt, had seen and done it all. She could really put the hammer down. Had zero tolerance for some nonsense!

I grew up 0.8 miles from grandparents. Would run to their house almost every day during the summer, swim in their pool, and hang out all day. Really miss those days. At least my grandma is still around. We had a great Mother's Day weekend at her house.
