100%…..Carlotta Halloween was the best party of the year. Last time I remember going I saw a bloody 10-20 man brawl in the middle of the street that lasted probably 10-15 min right up until the cops showed up…..it was insanity.

Back in the 80's, Domino's just started the pizza delivering business. I was one of the first drivers. I went in the Carlotta/Ivanhoe E. State St. numerous times. I later drove for Godfathers. I probably delivered to some of you drunk and stoned kids.

They tried to stop one of the Halloween parties. Blocked the streets and were turning people back...folks just went around and through fences etc. Things got crazy later they had horse police and were marching though...folks just cleared the road until they passed then spilled back out into the streets. It was fun and crazy.
Best costume I ever saw was at one of the early 00 Halloween parties...4 dudes were in serapes were carrying a huge, six or eight foot around sombrero and someone had a boombox playing the Mexican hat song and they would stop once in a while set the sombrero down and dance around it and then pick it back up and keep on going. Too bad they stopped the parties.

It is pretty quiet..not like y’all are describing .. I recall that also… mixed crowd of student and others.. they have been buying up some of the complex and redoing them.. which increased rent.. and the kids in college on their own and working got bumped .. old ones will eventually get redon.. there is still a nice complex in middle of area and a very nice cluster on edge looking at the small lake.
Canes bought the building next to canes 1 and then the two house next to that .. made a nice training center next to canes 1.. knocked the other two down ( one was condemned.. I think was a crack house). And has gated parking for canes stuff now.
The four plexes by the gas station look the same but were are redone on the inside .
