Whether they flooded or not doesn't matter when the flood zone is assigned. Most homes are never flooded including those in flood zone A.

I'd suggest anyone thinking of buying along the stretch between Madisonville and Ponchatoula along Hwy. 22 take a tour during peak commute hours, especially around 5:30-6 p.m.
The commute for anyone working in New Orleans or Baton Rouge to the (many)
new subdivisions along Hwy. 22 in Tangipahoa and St Tammany has got to be at least double what the distance would suggest it should be.
For the foreseable future, Hwy. 22 is one way in, one way out for the area.
