No one knows what Ingress is. The popularity of this makes it a bigger target, like all of the kids who were robbed at gunpoint after being lured in by crooks using this app.

You can't just lure someone to a location. All the points of interest are predetermined and at fixed locations. Anyone could lie in wait at one of these locations and ambush someone but that could also happen at an ATM or bar parking lot.
Just like anything else in life you have to pay attention to your surroundings and don't go to sketchy areas, especially at night.

But those locations already exist. You cant buy poke stops. Lures just give an increased chance that a pokemon will show up at that location.
