I just realized Beats are made by Monster. If that doesn't tell you everything you need to know about them being overpriced, nothing will.

The company I work for manufactures and sells Audio gear for musicians. One of my reps was a Monster (Beats) rep in CA and told me how much it costs to produce a pair of the over ear Beats headphones that were like 200-300. $14!
Don't buy that shite.

Beats by Dre headphones are definitely not worth the price so it's good you can't afford them. They're a marketing gimmick. Just google "beats by dre cheaper comparison" and there are bunch of lists comparing other headphones to the entire beats line. Many of them are in the $150 range.

They put a hunk of zinc in the beats so they weigh slightly more and you think they are a higher quality product.
