Bayou Country Superfest makes its return to Baton Rouge

After relocating to the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans in 2017 due to Tiger Stadium renovations, the two-day Bayou Country Superfest is back at its rightful place in Death Valley this month.

“The reason the festival exists is because the city, LSU and the people of the greater Baton Rouge area … embraced the event as their own,” organizers say in a statement.
“As with all homecomings, the imminent return of Bayou Country to Baton Rouge is filled with great memories and the promise of creating new ones.”

This year marks the fest’s 10th anniversary, and eight performers are scheduled to take the stage Memorial Day weekend. They include Tennessee native and Country Music Association award winner Kenny Chesney—who has had no problem selling out stadiums on his own. Chesney performs on Saturday, May 25, bringing hits like “The Good Stuff,” and “No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problems.”

Joining him Saturday is country duo Florida Georgia Line, known for its 2012 breakout single “Cruise,” which sold 10 million copies. The duo Dan + Shay, who performed their hit “Tequila” at this year’s Grammys, will take the stage Saturday. The Voice winner and Grammy award nominee Cassadee Pope will also grace the stage Saturday, supporting her new album Stages, released in February.

On Sunday, Jason Aldean is the big headliner, bringing music from his eighth studio album Rearview Town, which is his fourth consecutive No. 1 album on the Billboard charts. Kane Brown, a special guest on Aldean’s 2019 Ride All Night Tour, performs Sunday. Rounding out the day are Brett Young and Chase Rice, who each had college baseball and football careers—respectively—before becoming recent country music sensations.
