Bay Area man fights off four Norteno gang home invaders, killing one, police say

- Police said the victim had invited a woman into his home, and she asked to smoke a cigarette, so the victim opened his back door for her.
- Three hooded and masked men, one armed with a shotgun, then attacked the man.
- Police said the victim was hit and kicked numerous times during the incident.
- The victim was able to grab a knife and started stabbing one of the attackers.
- One of the suspects fired the shotgun in the air, and the gun then jammed. The shotgun in the picture is probably a sawed off Stevens Model 520 pump action shotgun produced around 1920-1924, nearly 100 years old.
- The victim then grabbed the shotgun, fled the home and was able to call police from a neighbor's home.
- The victim was transported to the hospital with serious injuries that were not considered life threatening.
- One of the suspects, identified as Boncutter, was dropped off at the hospital by the other suspects and was ultimately pronounced deceased.
- A short time later, the California Highway Patrol responded to a report of a vehicle crash that had occurred in the area of state Highway 12 and state Highway 21 and located a woman in the vehicle.

Alright this is pretty weird. With a name like that it's pretty easy to google. His father is a HS football coach who was a Lambda Chi at Ohio University. His grandmother is a registered nurse. His great grandmother was an Episcopalian who was involved in numerous civic organizations. All very anglo saxon. I assume this kid was adopted, maybe already with a troubled background and fell back into it. On my phone and can't link, but very weird and sad.

Other stories suggest it was some sort of online hookup and the victim met her when she got to his house. The victim was only 18 himself.

Sounds like this starts off like Wayne's Mona Lisa. Although the ending in this one is much better for the home owner.
