Baws who carry: has it been worth it?

I don't carry but having lived in Atlanta for the past few years there have been a few situations in which having a firearm could've come in handy.
For you baws who carry, have there been situations in which you've actually had to use the firearm or the threat of it?

Anytime somebody walks up to me I immediately throw my wallet at them. Haven’t been hurt yet.

the whole point of CC is not having to use it but knowing it is there.
I hope I never have to use it.

i masturbate in the middle of the night to the thought of me buying milk behind a milf at the grocery store while packing heat and she has no idea just how close she was to a gun near her rear end.

A new trick I've been doing is.
Ask every bum who comes up to me, if they have $5. Then I make up a sob story about how I lost my house and family, and the car is up for repo so I sleep in it, and I need money for food.
I have it down. They walk off or say. "Mahn I Was gunna axe you dat"

Handy for what? Peace of mind or to actually shoot someone?

I've done that on an occasion or two.

You've had a few situations where you needed to kill people?

I know it'll be frowned upon, but it's been so long since I've carried in holster on my person. Mostly because of being thin and the clothes I usually wear weren't conducive to carrying especially in summer. I always have one in the car when I travel and of course the house, but I probably won't renew my permit when it expires as you don't need one to have it in your car. I also take it for granted that I have never been in a situation at all in life where I needed to draw a firearm on someone. I try my best to position myself situationally where the odds of needing it are quite low. I don't go to gas stations at night, don't go to bars, or walk in bad areas. As much as road rage is prevalent in the south, I refrain from honking or tailgating just to prove a point.

I've had my CHL around 16 years, and I've carried the last 5. It took me a bit to understand and accept what I'd be doing if I carried.
So far, there was one time I was quite glad I was carrying.
It was late night and I was driving down into Brownsville from Houston. Had to get gas, and whilst I was pumping a Chevy pickup circled the pump island wide and then backed in to a parking spot around 25 yards away. Two guys got out and instead of walking into the station they split and started walking towards me, each about 10 yards apart. Hairs stood up, and I trusted my gut. I verbally acknowledged them, asked loudly if I could help them. They kept advancing without saying anything and then I went into a knee bent stance kind of like breaking down for a tackle but I raised a hand to my hip. They stopped advancing, looked at each other, and went back to their truck and drove away without so much as a word.
It could have been nothing, but it certainly didn't feel right. I never showed my pistol, but I'm glad they walked away. It's a close to an encounter as I've had and that's just fine with me. I find myself to be a far more courteous person now that I carry. It's kind of like an automatic check to myself in case I see emotions being raised.

More of peace of mind but also as a sort of proliferation.
I had a brotha pull a gun on me at a McD's a couple of years ago over a road rage situation that was his fault. Thankfully I de-escalated the situation, but packing heat in my car would've helped out if the guy threatened me further.

See my post above.
I also had a guy come up to my car while I was pumping gas out near Austell and try to open the door. Thankfully I was smart and had locked the door, but had I left it unlocked he could've stolen my wallet or phone. In that situation having a firearm in a holster would've deterred his arse from doing anything.

Only once. Hope it never happens again. I was traveling and staying at a crappy motel. The rest of the group was already in the room and I was unloading my luggage. This tweaker looking guy was roaming the parking lot and checking for unlocked cars. He spotted me, the only other person outside, and starts yelling and walking towards me. I ignored him at first. He was about 30-40 yards away and wasn’t running at me. Just sort of slowly walking and stumbling. He gets louder and louder. I pulled mine out and had it held out to my side and told him to stop. He throws his hands up, then runs off in the other direction. I locked up and went back to the front desk to tell the guy working. Said he saw it all on cameras and had already called the cops because of him trying car doors. I don’t know if they ever found the guy but glad it didn’t escalate into anything other than him screaming and running off.

Only once have I ever felt like I needed to even feel for it. Strangely, it was on the AT in an area called Max Patch.

I had to go out to Lawrenceville last week. Walking to my car at around 7pm (still daylight) I heard about 6-7 shots followed by tires squealing from the guy speeding away.
A buddy who lives out there says he hears shots maybe 2-3 times a week.
There's some crazy people out there.

would it really? not busting your balls. You brandish your weapon, he keeps coming. Then what? If you want to carry, carry. But remember, if you pull it, you better be ready to use it. If you use it, you are in for a world of shite- civilly- if not criminally.
Your choice and good on you either way. I'm just glad we live where we can decide for ourselves.
Good luck.
