re: Baws born before 1985; what uses did your family have for paper sacks?

To help ripen bananas and avocados in addition to uses at fish fries.

My little brother had a high school job at a grocery store. During the plastics bag roll out time, he’d ask if they wanted the kill a tree or choke a fish.

Walking one cougar’s groceries out, she told him she had an itchypussy. So he started looking for a fancy foreign car.

Wife still puts cantaloupe in paper bags to ripen them ..

My mom would cover our school books with them.

Before the advent of commercial microwave popcorn, we would dump regular popcorn with some salt and a little oil in a paper bag. Stick it in the microwave and pop away. Should have spent that time at the patent office.
