The road is probably around 100 ft above the water. That was an absolutely crazy jump to attempt for anyone that isn't a trained diver. Many experienced divers would not attempt it either.

I don't know if it was a pre-existing condition but he seems to have brain damage.

And 50 feet isn't that high.

Also, to illustrate how dumb your comment is:

If this guy did a proper dive from the top of that bridge then he would be the new world record holder.

This may actually be up there with the highest jumps into water ever witnessed. Higher than the Golden Gate Bridge which has nets all over it because it was a popular suicide area.

This may be a new world record?

More like 180 feet.

The clearance under the bridge is listed as 100 feet.

The arched beam/girder looks to be about 10 feet. Take that as a unit and divide it and multiply by 10.

Add 5’-10” for the top of his head.

185’-10” +/-

A jump from the Golden Gate Bridge is like 250 feet

There are people who have survived jumping from the Golden Gate Bridge, but most of them just got lucky in how they happened to hit the water Greg Luganis style.

This dude was not vertical when he hit the water. Given the height of the fall = probably around 175 ft - he's lucky to be alive.

This seems like a decent estimate but it does look like the arch goes up higher from the road than the road does from the water. There could be some issues with the lens angles making it look that way or maybe varying water levels but the bridge is said to have a clearance of 100'.

From what I understand, the Golden Gate Bridge is 230' so technically the people that survived that would be world record holders if it was allowed to be counted.

eta: one source says there is 100' clearance but others say 72'. If its only 72' then I'd estimate the jump was 160' to 175'. If 100' clearance is correct then that was over 200'.

That bridge looked a lot higher once that dude was climbing it. He was way up there.

Freaking idiot.

Over 90 feet and it’s like hitting concrete if you don’t know what you are doing

It’s amazing to see how small he looked when standing on top of the bridge.

Those girls who filmed don’t know how close they were to getting a manslaughter charge or some other obscure charge

I did the eye test with the body measure, and I got about 15 to 17 of his bodies between the top and the water landing. Assuming 6-foot tall, I'm calling it about a 95-100 foot jump.

That was way more than 50ft. Definitely 100 minimum. Me and some buddies jumped off a 50ft cliff in Lake Powell and we all agreed that we didn't need to do it ever again, but it was nothing compared to what the kid in this video did.

I've jumped from an 60/70 foot bridge into a river in Horseshoe Bend, Idaho. This guy's hang time was comparable to that hang time. He's an idiot for lunging instead of stepping off. Body rotation is deadly at that height.

Watching it again that looks like it's 90 feet

Edit: my God I was 90 feet off
