What is the plan to revitalize north baton rouge?
How exactly are they going to do this?

They want to use tax breaks and "incentives" (aka, tax payer bribes) to "entice" a developer to build some kind of massive mixed use development at the old Earl K. Long site. Most of the prospective developers backed out because it's simply unsupportable, the local politicians didn't think they included enough "affordable housing" (aka Section 8), or the local officials failed to offer enough in bribes.

Broome knows that St. George forming will likely accelerate white flight from the city limits. With more and more of the tax base gone, who's going to pay for city services and capital improvements? It sure as hell won't be the folks in north BR. If she insists on pursuing the line of thought that whites in BR are the root of the city's problems due to their perceived racism and "white privilege," she will tear the city apart. Seriously, can this woman have a discussion about anything without bringing up the subject of race?

Is that this Howell place that's "state of the art" they refer to? Only thing state of the art in NBR is the crime

No. Howell Park is an actually pretty nice golf course in NBR on Winbourne Avenue. It's the biggest money loser in the BREC system due to a lack of customers (shocked, I know).
Earl K. Long is the old Charity Hospital on the corner of Airline and Greenwell Springs. It closed due to budget cuts during the Jindal Administration when the Charity Hospital System was privatized. The closure of Earl K. Long, and later BR General Midcity, left NBR without an emergency room and all of EBR without a mental health facility.

That was my first thought. You need whitey for your diabolical plan to work. So you recruit him by telling him how horrible he is? Put a guilt trip on him? Makes sense though, they believe their argument is unquestionable fact. Actually, I think they even say something similar to that in that bs document

Oh, I've played there. I thought they were talking about an industrial park or something. Nice? That course was horrible. lol

Nice?
Have you seen any of the other parks up that way?

I just got confused when I read "Howell" & "state of the art" in the same sentence

Closing Earl K Long was a terrible thing to do. The state should have put money into it and renovated the building.

This is very disturbing. Especially coming from elected leaders and their team

See, what happens, is people begin to invest in NBR, build nice apartments, eateries, strip plazas, and it becomes gentrified, and the Blacks begin to cry about now being able to pay their taxes and housing is too expensive. blah blah
Same old song and dance, every decade

Agreed. The Charity Hospital system was a boondoggle, but the loss of EKL has cost them far more than any monetary savings.

I could see this happening in Old South Baton Rouge or Downtown East (they border desireable neighborhoods). The crime is simply too bad up in NBR.

Apparently, Broome has at least some whites buying what she's selling. Rolfe McCollister and the folks over at the Baton Rouge Business Report seem to be drinking the koolaid, as are the people at 225 magazine. I hope more people take the time to read this document. It's kind of scary that the people who put this together are running the city. For someone who ran for mayor on a platform of inclusiveness and bringing people together, there is an awful lot of finger pointing in one direction.

She was a moderate in the Kip mold, but when the runoff came, she had to bring in Denise Marcelle and Gravy to put her over the top. She sold herself out to the race pimps to get elected and promised them influence in exchange for support. She'll now have a lot of trouble being the puppet for the chamber of commerce now that the SJW thug apologists are threatening to undo all of the progress BR has made over the last decade.

Wrong.
Howell Place is off Harding BLVD. across from the Airport.
