Sounds right. Are young people interested in joining a Country Club?

Probably impossible for someone starting a thread like this.

You have to be invited, then interviewed by a committee, and then they will blackball you. You are probably more of Pelican Point kind of guy.

A guy I used to do business with was a member and told me that they were building(or maybe renovating) a new place to make something like a sports bar. The board at the time realized that the average age of active members was very old and they needed to do something to attract younger folks.

Nobody in BR is more than two generations off the farm, the oilfield, or the fruit and vegetable cart. To think of them trying to be elitist is rather humorous.

But I’d call it more of a campus than a club.

Might have gone over heads...

I bartended there in the 90's. Folks were really old back then. Just like any other country club if you ask me. Overpriced everything for meh quality.

It's not hard to get in, you just need to know a few people there and be willing to drop 50k plus 1k+ a month after that.

I used to work there in college

For the life of me I can’t see why anyone would want to be a member there. Awful location and it’s crammed in.

So glad to be out of the shite hole that is Baton Rouge.

Essen and Jefferson is a traffic hellhole.

That location was the country about 50 years ago until OLOL went up.

I get what you’re saying about traffic but it’s smack in the middle of the city.
