I hope that the LSU football team is able to honor these fallen officers somehow with their uniform. Also, I cannot wait until these officers are honored at Tiger Stadium. The Roar from the crowd will be amazing!

I think I'm going to try to go to the first LSU home game. Hoping they do something for them at that game. Hope their families get tickets to the game (at least one). I'd donate to make that happen.

So brad was the shooters original target according to state police. He hears the shots, calls it in, goes to the active scene, tries to save the wounded city cop, and lost his life as a result of trying the save a possible complete stranger(all be another police officer). If that isn't a hero, I don't know what is. He paid the ultimate price to save another. To think he had a family at home and still thought of others over himself is humbling. God bless all who protect me and my family.
These officers are such incredible heroes. I can't recall from the press conference, but were the BR city police officers shot while responding, or was the shooter able to corner them before they had heard the reports from dispatch?

Do any patrol police officers carry "long guns" or weaponry outside of a standard 9MM or .40 caliber? I thought someone mentioned yesterday that they sometimes have more firepower in the trunk, etc. but I wasn't sure if that was actually the case. Another unsung hero in all of this is the officer who immediately called for a Bearkat/SWAT vehicle so early on in the shooting. He saved many lives since the SWAT officer took the shooter out.
The photo of Matthew Gerald in his patrol car shows an AR next to him. I have to think he must have been caught off guard because a man with his reputation would have likely been able to hold his own against the coward. And that's not to diminish Officer Gerald in any way if he was equipped with his rifle. Sometimes that isn't enough.

I'm sure they will, I believe lots of local companies will be making every effort they can. I know my work is planning on selling hats to employees with the "thin blue line" on them, and donating to the families. I plan on buying several on top of donating to each officers GoFundMe.

its weird a marine killed a marine, but how did one guy take 3 people out?

According to the presser, one of the two BR officers lives was taken instantly when they arrived on scene and exited their cars. The other was wounded and was searching for cover. When the ebrso office responded and called it in, he used the dumpster behind the salon for cover and saw the second wounded officer behind the building. As he was trying the get the wounded officer the safety, he left his cover. The shooter rounded the corner, took the ebrso officers life, then shot the wounded Brpd again, taking his life.

-watch the press conference. Edmundson lays out the exact happenings.
-compare their weapons.
-the hunter usually defeats the hunted. He ambushed them.

That was obvious from the beginning.

but some guys teach to walk it up and follow the natural kick of the gun
I've heard this referred to many times as the zipper method.

The shooter had an advantage by knowing what he was going for and the cops weren't sure where the shooter was and what he was capable of.
