murdering cops in cold blood is such a "no win" proposition. As the perpetrator, you have next to no chance of getting away with it.

Mafioso omerta level gangsters are even afraid to do it, much less street level thugs.

You have to assume you are going to die when you decide to do something like this, so what is the motivation?

Has anyone started calculating how much money this is going to cost Baton Rouge citizens yet? I'm not talking the intangible costs which will be calculated later but rather police, ems, & other emergency response agency dollars.

Yeah, from my understanding he waited for the cops on detail to come out and just opened fire.

That witness was extremely unreliable. Several of his statements directly contradict all other reports. It seems like he just wanted to get 15 minutes of pseudo-fame out of a tragedy.

He was spotted on Carolyn Sue Road at one point, which is right behind the stores. That's probably where he came from.

Again agreed. The guy had to know when and where those cops would be to ambush them . He either had local help or scoped the area out for a few days....
