I’ve researched this both online and by talking with other parents who stream at the park. Everything I’ve heard points to the Mevo being superior for streaming with GameChanger. Everyone said the GoPros overheat after a few innings compared to the Mevo and the video quality is better with the Mevo as well.

This is why I tell people to just watch and enjoy. There are hundreds of hours of games in my mother's closet that noone has or will ever watch.

This is a great statement. When it's game time just sit back and enjoy. I only film my daughter during practice sessions. This is mainly to show her progression. It's always enlightening to her when i can say "look at where you at compared to six months ago". It's a quick pick up when things aren't going the way she hopes.

GoPro is terrible for streaming games.

Mevo is the best option.

However, we use our son's phone to stream. Almost just as good of quality as Mevo, but no hassle of extra equipment. Phone as way better than GoPro.

Phone, external battery pack, and a magnetic cooler.

Filming an ab here and there is one thing. Live streaming the u8 "world series" from Lafayette 15 weekends a year is just stupid and a waste of time and money.

When grandparents live two states away, streaming is a nice option for them. Believe it or not, grandparents love to watch their grandchildren play sports.

And with the GameChanger overlay, they get to follow the game as if it were an MLB game.

People hating on this don't realize how this lets families that live far away watch the games.

Don’t worry about filming because I heard ESPN is going to pick up the games.

I'd send them a link to one of the 5 other parents on the teams stream

We're gonna need some LSU777 insight on this matter.

Which product has the capability to detect launch angle and exit "VELO"? That's the cool stuff you need to know so you can send it off to the MLB scouts.

would have to have hittrax, rapsodo or trackman to get all that.

pocket radar can sometimes get exit velo

and you could get the blast motion vision app and the blast sensor on the bat and do it. not sure if the blast sensor is legal during a game or not though.

in other words, dont be weird, just get the nexus mount, use an iphone to stream/record. pocket radar if you want the pitch speed put into the stream.

Maybe film 1 game a year or something if you must. You may think you will now, but you will never wanna go back and watch a season of u10 baseball games.

The guy is looking for a more passive way to film his kids? He gets to be engaged in the game and watch, it's just set up and recording. If he forgets to film and his son hits a homerun or something, he has a back up. What's the issue?

ETA: I have multiple kids, my wife and I can't both make every game because of other kid activities. Now whoever doesn't make the game can watch.

Then they aren't using GameChanger to stream. GC doesn't allow for multiple streams to sync with the play-by-play.

Tell your 5 other parents they are missing out. GC provides each player with at-bat clips and key defensive play clips with zero work.

Our team has one stream only... and usually has between 15 and 40 viewers.

Work with a guy who's streams his kids games live when we work weekends. Once he dug into his archives to show a game where he got into shouting match with umpre. He was one proud parent over that one. He even went on to tell me about waiting for him the parking lot after the game. It was a shining moment in his life no doubt. He was glowing with pride.

The wide angle lens of most GoPros and other action cams would be a terrible idea for filming/watching a game. Go with an interchangeable lens mirrorless camera with a HDMI output.

sounds like a piece of shite

but if you stream on GC, it will cut the clips, archive everything. its a great way for parents that have multiple kids, grandparents etc to watch games.

Nope, this shite was real. The dude is 5'5" weighs around 250 and thinks his kid can make it to the show. He's a complete psycho (an obviously an idiot)about travel ball. He even once made the comment that one day once his kid needs "the tommy john" he expects a increase in velo.

Why would this be hard to believe. This dude is the embodiment of everything this board hates about travel ball. Shallow gene pool, no class, and no self awareness.
