I know that the topic here is guns but mass killings would still happen even if guns were illegal.
So the whole point is pretty much a "feel-good" measure isn't it?
We can outlaw the implements of atrocity one by one but ignore the REAL issue all along and what have we accomplished?

Alcohol and guns don't mix mm-Kay.

I can't envision a scenario where having ccl guys in a bar ends well? Sure this instance would have been nice, but how many batshit crazy episodes would have preceded this? Two assholes jawing and one pulls a gun? And scratch that, alcohol, guns, and pussy are a lethal combo.

More cops on the door? Sure. More armed security (which is basically what cops are in this capacity. The last thing they want to do is paperwork)? Sure.

Do concealed carry laws allow a permit holder to drink and carry in states that allow weapons in bars?

I know Georgia does not.

How is that hypothetical scenario different than anywhere someone would be carrying concealed?

Anti-gun activists predicted the same when permits started sweeping the land. Guess what? Hardly ever happens in the grand scheme of things.

Again, some of you are making incorrect assumptions about people who legally carry concealed weapons.

But that's the same as a DUI scenario. You're not supposed to drink til drunk and then drive, but people do.

Who is willing to be the designated CCL GUY at a bar on a Saturday? We can't get designated drivers.

Guns, beer, "Baws", and pussy are just a horrendous combo. If you disagree you are delusional. Bottom line there is no good answer. Only answer will be more cops at bars and clubs.

I'm not even trying to get in a gun free zone or gun debate with you really. If shite pops off at a Bass Pro I know to hit the fricking deck or run if near a door, because half the guys in there are CCL. it would be crossfire carnage. But an a-hole looking to do damage would have to be an idiot to try and shoot up a bass pro.

being able to put out 3 or 4 bullets per second is fricking ridiculous

Revolvers can shoot 3 or 4 bullets per second. Other than single shot rifles I can't think of a single cartridge fired firearm that isn't capable of shooting 3 or 4 rounds in a second. So you effectively want to ban all firearms?

If 3 or 4 per second is to fast, how slow is slow enough?

One thing that is a fact with all of these criminal shooting is they end when someone else with a firearm shows up on the scene. I am in no way saying people drinking in a bar should have firearms, as that is illegal already.

break then.aw and mass shootings happen in "gun free" zones.

The goal of these mass shootings is to kill the most amount of people in the shortest amount of time. These shootings occur in locations where people are packed together and the death toll will be high. The shootings often occur in a location that has some meaning to the assailant. These guys aren't googling "gun free zone" looking for a place to shoot up.

I pretty much agree with your post, but this is some Josey Wales type shite here? If I see a dude at a bar with a Pancho on and a stubby cigar? I'm not gonna frick with him.

Many places with many people are just going to be gun free zones? Just the way it is.

Why is that? A revolver shoots as fast as the trigger can be pulled. He didn't say 12 rounds in 3 seconds. That would involve a reload and would require lots of practice. 3 to 4 in a second or two isn't that hard. So by that standard it is ridiculous that someone can own a firearm in OM's mind.

Obviously jerry miculek is a bad dude and would blow OM's mind.

"OR TWO".

2 seconds in with you. But you earlier said "a second". That speed is like shooting quarters in the air and cutting playing cards in half type of old west marksman.

And I am only talking revolvers. Totally with you on the speed of a semi automatic. What would be the answer? Put some kind of "governor" in the trigger mechanics of a handgun?

Somewhere between revolver speed and the gun RoboCop pulls out of his thigh is about right.

That is what OMlandshark said. I'm just pointing how ignorant he is on firearms. If he says 3 to 4 rounds in second is too much I'm willing to bet 3 to 4 rounds in 2 seconds is too much as well.

With a revolver it is. If he practices that much to get his speed down? He better be over 50 and wearing boot and a shirt with Pearl snap buttons. Otherwise?? He better have a file! He's up to some shite.

I think we are on different pages here. I'm referring to OM's statement the a firearm capable of shooting 3 to 4 rounds in a second should be illegal. A revolver is capable of that.

Probably not the kind of person who goes clubbing so irrelevant?

I have had a lot of run-ins with drunks. I am glad they didn't have a hand gun.

no. one 50 death event per year would be outweighed by incidents in the state over each weekend. just not dramatic, because in the morning the drunk shooter could not quite even remember why he was so pissed, except to say, he made me mad.
