When you see images like these, our daily problems here in America seem so trivial by comparison.

I dunno man, I doubt any of those people in the pics have been away from home and forgot their phone charger. I'd say it's a toss up.

This is ridiculous. I would say Germany and Japan suffered horribly as well and those countries have thrived.

It's too bad that we're not on good terms with N Korea.

I'd love to send some of those commie loving freaks like Streisand, Madonna, Bruce Springsteen, etc over there to live in one of those great places like this;

I think he got his education from the Mexican section of North Korea.

I got dyslexia trying to read that post.

I'm civilian, but my friend I'm going with is in the military. Is it pretty cool to see?

It's pretty awesome. When you get to the area where the blue meeting buildings are the ROK soldiers will surround you to "protect" you from the North Korean soldiers just feet away. They wear sunglasses and look pretty fricking intimidating as they stand at "ROK Ready" position( which is a hyper aggressive version of attention) and stare down the malnourished looking North Koreans.

All kinds of weirdness there. They've been in a "flag race" for years to see who can make the biggest flag so they both have gigantic football field size flags. North Korea also has big Hollywood style signs that translate to "our system is better".

The American area at Camp Greaves has "the world's most dangerous golf course" which is a single putting green surrounded by landmines.

Both sides also have propaganda villages in sight of each other. South Korea's actually has people living in theirs. The North's is just giant cut outs that they must feel pretty stupid about now that we have Google Earth.

Found a pic of "ROK Ready"

Part of that is true. In Germany and Japan there were surrenders and plans to rebuild. Even though Japan kept it's leader, their attitude was defeated and he got in line with us to keep his power. We have major bases and helped rebuild those nations. That's the opposite outcome of the war in Korea.

They seem like a humble meager people. I think I almost like them more than most Americans.
