Ballers: how much would a house on the bluff in Natcez run?

It would be nice to sit on the veranda and watch the sun set over the river with a bourbon and a trophy soccer mom.

Probably not as much as you think. There are only so much old money still doing things in Natchez.
I take that back. There is a 10000sf house on Zillow that last sold for $1.1 million.
A 10000sf house in NOLA Garden District or Uptown would sell for over $3million

Is that an old Aztec settlement? Sorry, but I don't know Central American real estate like I used to...

eta, if the taxpayers hadn't bailed them out paid for the concrete stabilization then those houses wouldn't be worth jack shite now. If fact, they'd probably be halfway down said bluff.

Availability will be your biggest issue.

Natchez is quaint and ideal for a lazy weekend, but you couldn't pay me enough to live there.

I've always thought Natchez would be such a cool city for young people to live in IF there were jobs and an economy there, same goes for Vicksburg.
The midget bartender at Under The Hill always plays House of the Rising Sun on the piano. Love it.

I don't know how much it would cost, but I think it would be wonderful to live in an old, historic town like Natchez, Vicksburg, or Natchitoches in an old house along the river.

I agree. An old house on the river or a downtown loft would be neat. I don't think I could do it for more than a couple of months at a time, though.

I can only imagine the weird, depraved shite old Natchez money does to get their kicks behind closed doors.

Hanging out at the barbecue joint by the courthouse at lunchtime is like being in a Grisham novel.

I was married to a girl from Natchez that came from old money. They're a different breed for sure.
