It is generally accepted to go OT on an OT thread on tOT but for the love of all things holy it is thread jacking or a threadjack. Thread stealing sounds like something Grampa Simpson when he was sundowning in the home.

In no way does that honor the heritage of the great original design.

I doubt it it doesn't have much soccer mom vibe on the outside or inside, especially when they have the Disco, Disco Sport, Evoque and Velor to chose from in a similar price range.
I know a lot of baws will overlook them but when they are running LRs are among the most off-road capable vehicles made unless you are looking in the Unimog segment.

I think it will spend more time with your mechanic than with you.

You’re always posting in the middle of the night...I would ask if you’re a vampire, and that’s how you acquire so much knowledge, but a vampire would never admit to being one anyway. Do you have a cool old French sounding name?
I think off-roading to most southerners is straight mud riding, and LRs SUCK for that. I’ve had a Disco sitting on the frame before. Took two trucks to drag it out of the ruts.

It has a definite soccer mom vibe.

Outside of being a semi-luxury SUV I don't see it.
The interior is relatively spartan and has exposed hardware in contrasting colors and big grab rails. Compared to the old Defender it looks like a Rolls Royce but it still has an upmarket utilitarian look to me.
I just don't see it, but I am not a soccer mom.

Land Rover is such a garbage PoS vehicle.
What model and year did you have? There is a great deal of difference depending on model year ranges, which I'm sure you know having owned one or more.

Nice looking, but I’d wait a few years to assess reliability. Land Rover is notorious for mechanical problems and repairs at the dealership are EXPENSIVE. My LR4 has about bankrupted me. The dealership in BR will just about rape you at every opportunity.

At 10-14 MPG 92 gets expensive fast.

I had a 2003 discovery hse. Thing basically needed a new engine at 38k miles. This was in 2007. All service done on time at the dealership. Just out of warranty. shite out of luck. They tried to sell me another vehicle when I told then I would just drive it til it broke for good. I know they had some serious issues in that time span, but nothing can convince me that they’ve gotten their shite together. I guess if you’re constantly up to buy a new one every three years it’s fine. I, however, loved the way that vehicle looked and wanted to have it 20 years down the road. Would have been a cool recreational vehicle once it was of classic age.
