Bad news for O-T cigar fans: President Trump Tightens Sanctions on Cuba–No Cigars, No Rum

Americans will no longer be allowed to buy Cuban cigars, Cuban rum, or to stay in Cuban hotels, President Trump announced in a White House speech today. New U.S. sanctions leveled against Cuba have removed the permission for Americans traveling abroad to buy Cuba’s most famous exports, and also ban future U.S. travelers from staying at any government-owned hotels on the island—a restriction that essentially forces all future U.S. visitors to stay in Airbnb-style lodgings in private homes, since the Cuban state holds full or majority ownership in all Cuban hotels.
The new laws take effect tomorrow, September 24.

I had no desire to go to Cuba and buy cigars, rum, or stay in hotels, but now I kinda want to.

I don’t smoke cigars, but what’s the big deal with Cuban cigars anyway? Are there not good cigars made in America? Or anywhere else?

This is a negative, though. It's all the Cuban government has to hang onto that the big, bad U.S. has this embargo which is crippling Cuba. As if they can't do business with the other 190-something nations?

Good. The deal Obama made with those commie scum bags was terrible. He should have gotten some more human rights concessions before just opening his arse to the Cubans.
