But "insanely" popular? No. Elvis and the Beatles were insanely popular.

Yes, yes they were. But that's not in the year 2025.

Taylor Swift is insanely popular

Yes, yes she is. So what do you call the person who is #2 only behind her in popularity?

They were the top two choices in most internet chatter. Though JayZ chose BB.

I wouldn't call it pandering to have a top five most popular artist in the world play the Super Bowl. Who is being pandered to, his millions of fans?

"Pandering" has come to mean "hosting anyone whose fanbase isn't predominantly 60 year old white guys from South Louisiana"

Ok. Zero chance Taylor would ever do it, she has no reason to. And Adele is still a strange choice with music that doesn't fit.

Yet many Americans have no idea who he is.

Very few Americans know who Virat Kohli is, either, but he has almost as many Instagram followers as Taylor Swift.

The guy doesn't have songs English apparently, I think we can all agree a little bit that it is in fact pandering for a particular demo.

Popular

You need to learn the meaning of words

Good point. He would attract few new fans.

If your position is that there can only ever be 1 insanely popular music artist at a time, I won't necessarily agree, but fair enough.

I said earlier in this thread that the no English would be my only hang-up and make it difficult to follow from a fan perspective. Although, Despacito was totally in Spanish too and everyone followed along just fine to the tune of billions of listens, so what do I know?

You won’t convince the oldhead that he is popular or deserves the half time show

The people who have a problem with it, let them stay mad

Their asses will still sit and watch in awe at El Conejo Malo

If they want to expand their base through pop music, American women are your best demo, not Latin American countries.

They already hooked the younger American women via the Taylor Swift / Travis Kelce connection.

Besides that, you don't think a lot of younger American women listen to Bad Bunny? I bet a lot of them do.

Latin America is a huge, relatively untapped market. Notice how they are playing games in Mexico and Brazil now?

Next up: China and India

I bet you'll be really thrilled about that.

I have 3 SILs under 30, two of them still in college. They know who he is but don't go out of their way to listen to him.

Such a strange post to downvote

Get Foghat on the line, now!

LOL. I once saw Foghat perform live at a US Army base in Korea (Camp Walker). There were about 100 people or so who showed up. That was in 1988.
