Yes, a thread with 23 replies isn't some ringing endorsement of something being popular.

So your contention is that "normal people" don't listen to extremely mainstream pop? I would argue it's the very definition of "normal people".

And?

You have many white people here telling you they have never heard of the guy, and you refuse to believe it, and you used worthless Spotify numbers to try to back your point.

Just because some posters here don't know who he is, are you trying to claim that he is not an insanely popular artist?

Correct. Streaming and talk radio mean we dont have to listen to the same simple chords and dumbed down lyrics

In the coveted 18-to-49-year-old demographic, “SNL” ranked as the No. 1 broadcast entertainment series for the 2024-25 season. It was also the No. 1 comedy series across broadcast and cable for the sixth consecutive season.

That doesnt mean much when the vast majority of people in that age group dont have cable but whatever.

I just asked a handful of my staff (22-40) and some have heard of Bad Bunny. None watch SNL and most dont have cable. Of those that know him almost all of them said they dont know the words to his songs

Bad Bunny is one hell of a choice. He’s going to put on a SHOW. Full stop.

Yes.

Insanely is hyperbole.

If this is true, everyone who has ever had a chart topper is "insanely popular."

You mean “Insanely popular artist for the unwashed, uncultured, and liberal trash masses.”

I’ll pass.

1 #1 and 15 top 10s. You continue to be disingenuous.

What you are describing isn't "normal people". What you mean is "outliers".

=/= "insanely" popular.

Elvis was insanely popular. Bad Bunny is a fad.

He was quite literally the most streamed artist in the world for 3 straight years, was only dethroned by Taylor Swift, and is either #2 or #3 all time depending on which list you check. If he's not "insanely popular" then no artist is

Yet many Americans have no idea who he is.

Strange how that happens.

You folks need to look up "insanely"

But it's not the US making him the most streamed. It's Latin countries. I am not trying to say he isn't very popular worldwide. He simply isn't nearly as popular in the US. That's not to say he isn't popular. He's just not near the level that some of our megastars are.

I've never streamed a song of his. But numbers don't lie. His numbers are impressive. Streams are the new album sales.

Absolutely'

But "insanely" popular? No. Elvis and the Beatles were insanely popular. Taylor Swift is insanely popular

Not Bad Hare.

I agree, having a single chart topper does not make you insanely popular. But what about someone who has had multiple chart toppers?
