I guess the NFL has completely given up on trying to market their product to everyone
They already have all the white and black guys locked in. No need to market them any further. Those numbers won't move much.

If Kendrick Lamar and Bad Bunny aren't mainstream, then who is exactly?

Rihanna is one of the biggest Pop artists of the 2000/2010s. I dare you to name one song of hers where she rapped.
quote:
Rihanna raps on songs such as "Work", "Love The Way You Lie", "Loyalty", "Live Your Life", and "Lemon". She has also showcased her rap skills on tracks like "Run This Town", "Take Care", and "Famous".
I'm no Rihanna guru, but according to google, she has rapped on over a dozen songs.
I'm sure your response will be "that's not real rap"

You kind of have to be a rapper, to make rap music.
For the record, you're talking to someone who actively listens to the music. It's totally fine if you don't.

I'll be watching something else during halftime for sure. This isn't my cup of tea.

You probably shouldn't rely strictly on AI. It's not super accurate. I know all of those songs except one, and guess what, she is singing, not rapping on those songs.
Again, I know her music. I've listened to the majority of her albums in full.

I included hip hop in the category.

Congrats. You want an award for a passive activity?
I also listen to a lot of music and attend lots of shows, but I'm not bragging about it like its an accomplishment.
And I have nothing against any of the artists, and have said nothing negative about them except that I would like some variety. I would say the same if there were 6 consecutive years of classic rock bands.

This is why relying on AI is bad. Of the songs I know that it listed, Work is the only one that could be considered rapping. Run This Town specifically won a Grammy for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration.

Yes, you have to actually rap in order to be a Hip Hop artist. Because that is what Hip Hop is.
No, but in order to judge a musical genre, it's artists, etc. You have to actually listen to it and understand the genre.
There has been variety. Just not as much as you would like. Which is totally fine. And if the last 6 SB artists included people like Garth Brooks, Foo Fighters, Luke Bryan, Coldplay, Metallica, and New Kids on the Block. And I complained that there were zero variety because this is 6 consecutive years of rock bands, do you not think people would correct me on here?

If an alien came down to earth the last 5 years and just watched Super Bowl halftime shows, and then you asked the alien “what type of people make up American football fans” they would say 85% black peiple who like hip hop
The damn MLB all star game this year was classic as well

But the last 6 years haven't been the same genre or performance, that's the point he's trying to make. It's like saying "we've had 6 years of classic dad rock" if RHCP, Metallica, Coldplay, Journey, Foo Fighters and Billy Joel were the most recent acts.
Edit: damn QJenk was faster than me to make the same point

Is the alien allowed to scan the crowd?
Should the alien assume only blacks listen to hiphop?

What a dishonest and retarded analogy.
Do Garth Brooks and Metallica tour together?
Do Foo Fighters and New Kids collab on each other's albums?
Do Cold Play and Luke Bryan court the same audience?
You apparently don't listen to as much music as you think with such an uneducated and moronic comment.

As I was told at the halftime show last year. “They not like us, they not like us”

I'll let QJ respond, but I think you're making his point for him. Bad Bunny, Kendrick, and Alicia Keys definitely all have very different fanbases.

Hiphop is the most popular music genre in America. Blacks are a statistical minority. If you think whites aren't listening to hiphop, you're really out of touch.
