My god, that part of 30A snd those beaches sounds miserable with this petty stuff. Avoid any beaches with high rises or motel style beach housing like the plague,

Well this is not true at all. They can absolutely setup in the public portion, they just can't block others from passing through, at least in Walton county. I've been following this for awhile. Water rights are a boogeyman that often never have clear answers, but in this case, Backstreet boy here doesn't want public beach running adjacent to his private beach (that taxpayers will have to pay to rebuild after a hurricane). He can sue all he wants, but he's not getting special treatment for the high water line to the Gulf being public beach.

And it's laughable his attorney saying the public portions are, "sparsely populated." Because of this ordinance that's quite unique to Walton county, their tourism has plummeted, and the few public beaches available have people packed in like sardines. Walton county is just now in the FO phase of running beach tourists off their beaches.

It sounds like the old woman is retired and has nothing to do but frick with him, for sport. At this point they both have an intricate knowledge of where his property line is and she crosses it just to see the tantrums from him and his drill wielder.

Uhh - no.

Walton County has tremendous construction going for apartment complexes and planned neighborhoods. They need these for support of the growing local workforce.

You are correct that Walton County is unique with the beachfront properties including the sand to the MHWL. But that is not affecting tourism and rentals, even though the Karens like to make that claim.

It’s not just individual house owners being dicks. It’s also condo complexes. They don’t want anyone setting up in front of them all the way to the surf.

It is not being a dick if you own the property. That bitch can buy his house or rent some sand from him.

to repeat, a friend of mine owns a property within a couple of miles from there along with the beach it's located on, it's pretty clearly written out in the home owners' docs, she can't prevent people walking/running on the beach from cutting through her beachfront, but they can't stop and set up shop on "her" beach, I was just down there in September, unsurprisingly, the only trashy people we dealt with trying to access her beach from the roadside, which is definitely trespassing, and set up their trailer trash/travel ball type homeless encampment, were a bunch of people from Louisiana

Wrong. He doesnt want these protestors setting up on his portion of private beach ABOVE the legal tide line.

Walton county is expecting a 3% decrease for 2025, far from a plumit. Trust me, we could use a decrease. We also have more and more permenrant residents moving in.

The only people being affected by the enforcement of an laready existing law are the homes north of 30A who have no deeded beach access. Those homes must use public beach access points, which is no different than in past years, only now they are noit allowed to spread out onto private property.

I agree but they don’t all the way to the surf (which is why that’s in my sentence. Reading comprehension ftw!) but they want to control that which isn’t theirs.

Found this:
quote:

As part of a 2023 settlement agreement, certain property owners are allowing beachgoers to access their private property. This is shown on our interactive map as a tan-color labeled owner-managed private beach. As outlined in the settlement, public access to these specific privately owned beaches is now allowed up to 20 feet landward from the wet/dry sand line, known as the Transitory Zone. Beachgoers can use this area for walking, running, jogging and entry into the water for swimming and other water activities. These other rules and restrictions apply: - Sunbathing, whether with personal beach chairs or towels, is allowed between 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Chair/umbrella rental through a vendor may be offered. - To avoid overcrowding, the number of beachgoers in an owner-managed private beach is limited to the equivalent of one person per five feet of the private beach frontage. - Beachgoers cannot access the transitory zone through the owner-managed beach site. Pay attention to signage at these areas to determine where you can enter. - Private beach owners, their guests/renters have full use of their private beach, and may relocate or remove beachgoers if they are not complying with the rules.

No they dont. They want to control what is legally theirs which is to the mean high water line. Anything below that is public property.

The protestors are purposely setting up above the MHWL and the county will not ticket repeat offendors therefore the county is beind sued.

Absolutely not. There are no sports involving flying projectiles on public property nearby. If you want that beach, you can rent a house, pay for a house, make friends with beachhouse people...

Or you can suck a dick because there’s nothing you can do if I want to set up at the water’s edge.

How do people not understand the issue? There is no problem with setting up at the waters edge. That is perfectly legal.

The problem is...
