If La'el is the father and he really didn't go see the baby at all, i'll hope he never plays another down of football again.

That makes no sense

Currently he has no idea either way

So you either hate him now for not seeing a kid that might be his, or you understand that he didn't go see a kid that he doesn't feel is his kid

But using hindsight to determine how you feel about Collins is retarded because no one knows

Thousands of children under five die every fricking day.

How does that happen?

Also, I was surprised that Mascona would spend so much time agonizing over the draft status of La'el Collins and whether or not his agent screwed up, without really mentioning the baby that was in the NICU. To me that was the most important part.

A: It's a sports call-in show
B: LC is assumed to be a part of this story ONLY because he dated her at some point.

I feel for the child and family though

I hear you. The human condition is more complex than that, though. Some of this is built on a culture that I can't relate to.

This "i don't know who the father is" thing is foreign to me. People in my culture just lie and assign a father based on convenience well in advance.

If the child is his, and even if he had nothing to do with what happened, it doesn't reflect good on him if he never saw that child, especially in the child's last moments.

If there's a possibility that the child IS mine, I would have to be there for the child until/if it's proven otherwise.

I just couldn't look myself in the mirror if it turns out the baby was my child and I never saw him/her and the child died. If a person could live with that, that's pretty disturbing.

I'm not so sure that they let "possible fathers" in to visit in the NICU. Just saying. Maybe the mother's family declined any visitors. Maybe the mother had told him it wasn't his. Maybe a lot of things.

I would like to think that if he had an inkling that the child was his that he at least TRIED to get there.

If my sister's kid was in the NICU and my sister was dead, and I didn't know who the father was, I wouldn't let potential baby daddies in the NICU, especially if they haven't talked to my sister since September.

Lulz at the bleeding hearts in here. So glad there needs to be overwhelming proof of a crime in this country before one is punished for a crime. At this point, none of you know if he killed this girl, or if he is the father. As far as anyone knows, she could have been trying to blackmail him for money. Move to Iran if you want to hang people based off of what you read and hear.

Details of this case are not public yet so no rush to judgement. Why don't people get married any more before having kids? Poor kid never had a chance

I feel like that's just something people say
I don't feel for them
I don't know the mother, the child, la'el, or anyone involved or tangentially involved. I wish they hadn't died but otherwise I've got my own to worry about

nobody knows what happened here but the people involved

Prayers needed for who exactly? The baby. What exactly are we praying for. Pretty sure the baby wasn't capable of committing any sins if you believe that stuff.

No, lsu fan who cannot see through his purple and gold glasses. If he did not at least make an effort to see the kid i think he is horrible whether its his kid or not. none of this would even be happening though if there wasn't a good chance the kid is his.
