She was a terrible actress, a total dumb blob of tits and arse.
I think actors are often shortchanged by those who have never done it, especially attractive women who are cast primarily due to looks. I've been in a couple films and my daughter was a child actor. It does require more effort to memorize dialog, take direction and project a character than just showing up and being oneself while being filmed (ala Samuel L. Jackson).
Granted, Mary Collins (Bo) , a high school dropout who spent most days surfing (her dad was an executive for Hobie Cat), was not a rocket surgeon and maybe dumb as a brick as you say. She couldn't be mentioned in the same sentence with Meryl Streep (Oops, just did it) but she was better than Tanya Roberts. I have never seen Bolero, but hopefully will based on your recommendation, just to re-evaluate her "talent" as a actress.
Edit to add: If you had hung around on the right beach on St. Bart's in the 90's you may have been able to go snorkling with fully nude Bo, but posting a pic of that or similar here just might infringe the rules...

Now you tell me?
I watched "In my own words" which was a documentary on her a few years back. She is retired, lives on a farm with her horses and seems incredibly happy. Which is a great thing. But just them talking to her, she still seems like she has a IQ less than a potato.
She talks a lot about how she met John Corbett and their relationship and they seem like a great couple. He has similar wants as her and lets face it, he is no rocket scientist either.
Im not mad at her. I just would have liked to hear her admit that she basically made it on her looks, which is totally fine. Her trying to convince me that she was some kind of great actress and that people didnt see that because of her looks. She was not.

I was hinting to a certain good poster that I wouldn't want to see him catch a ban for an image that may violate the site rules...

Miss America 1971 Phyllis George, first woman to anchor a network sports show, The NFL Today.
And Miss Ohio 1970 Jayne Kennedy, who replaced Phyllis and thus became the first African American woman to anchor a network sports show.

back in my misspent youth i would occasionally thumb through the pages of National Geographic in hopes of seeming some third world noodz
then one time i found this pic:
it was in an article about a young bayou couple who built a houseboat by themselves and lived on the Atchafalaya
something about that woman’s expression (and the thought that she was wearing nothing under that floral print sheet) always stuck with me
years later she wrote a book about het experiences, and seeing her as an old woman kinda took the wind out of my sails, so to speak, but she was damned enticing back in the day

PBS did a 1 hour show about the woman years after she had left the basin.
There were many pictures of her and her man friend who lived on their self-built houseboat along with a lot of commentary from the lady herself, Gwen Roland, who aged well and was quite a nice looking woman when younger.
She and her partner Calvin Voisin lived out there for a while but eventually went their separate ways but still remained friends.

I knew that seemed familiar and that I had seen some film footage and interview of her. Being often out on a small boat at dawn I can totally understand the allure of living off the grid surrounded by nature, and have some fond childhood memories of our family's large camp out on a bay in South La. Having a spouse/partner who shares that appreciation could be relative heaven for a while. Self sufficiency is not as easy a life as it may seem though, not a totally carefree existence.
Speaking of the swamp, Creature from the Black Lagoon starred Julie Adams (not as the title creature though).

Julie Adams was fine as wine in many of the pictures she co-starred in over the years. She made "Creature From the Black Lagoon" a must see movie.
She had quite a lengthily film and television career.

It was around 1954, I was 5, parents took us to see Creature from the Black Lagoon. I still remember this. I was holding an orange drink when that creature came out of the water. I screamed and spilt that orange drink all over myself and my father.

You would only have the mouth. Carly didn’t inherit a pile of money from her family. Even though her dad was a founder is Simon & Schustsr, he sold his shares in the company before it became the profitable publishing giant.

You’re seriously mid-70s?
Damn, we got some spry and rambunctious older folks here.
I hope to be half as much at 60.
