Read the recent book "Dutch Girl", about her life under German occupation during WWII. Her uncle had been the mayor of Arnhem, and was executed by the Nazis in retaliation for resistance actions. She had health issues much of her life due to severe malnutrition caused by food shortages, and it was somewhat of a miracle that she ended up as an actress since she was pursuing a career as a ballerina.
