As part of the Air Force's "Air Force Salutes" initiative to honor our health care workers across harder hit areas from COVID-19, B-52s conducted flyovers today of several hospitals in both the Shreveport/Bossier City and Monroe areas.

B-52s flyover Shreveport Hospital

We are currently working to get approval for a formation of B-52s and F-15s to do flyovers of New Orleans and Baton Rouge hospitals next Friday.

ETA: I updated the link to a Youtube video from the ArkLaTex homepage. Flyover is shown between 0:15 and 0:20.

What about the grocery workers? How come they aren't being recognized by the Air Force for their efforts?

I'm sure you could google the email address for the Secretary of the Air Force and Chief of Staff of the Air Force and ask them. They are the ones who approved this initiative to honor health care workers.

They are going to fly the planes anyway. It isn't like they sit them up for 10 years till the next war.

Yeah, I used to live in North Bossier too; right under the flight path of the ILS approach to Runway 15. When I was flying I could look right down at my house through my targeting pod to make sure no Jodies were visiting.

And let’s not forget all of our dedicated garbage collectors.

Sounds like you are the person with the connections. Why don't you contact them to make it happen. I'm sure our grocery workers would appreciate being recognized as being heroes with a flyover.

It is my wife's birthday on Monday. Can I get a flyover of my house for her?

I am in the chain of folks who work getting the specifics approved, not the overall initiative. Not my call on who we honor. Just my job within AF Global Strike Command to get our aircraft assigned/approved and any “abnormal” aspects approved, such as the dissimilar aircraft formation proposed for next week with the combination of B-52s and F-15s.

Careful, buddy. The Quarks who are eaten up with jealousy at anyone else getting recognition won't like this.

Or a simple show of gratitude to those helping those afflicted with this disease.
