I would support a 4 10’s system for those that can do it. It would work at my place as even the factory does not always run 5 days a week.
Of course nowadays salary doesn’t always equal 40 hours a week to some employers. Which is BS because hourly workers get OT after 40 hours so if I don’t get paid extra why should I stick around Friday?

Me and one of our IT guys are the only two that come to the office routinely at a corporate HQ that used to house 200+ people.

Seems kind of dumb to still be paying the lease on the building at that point

We never went back full time but we do go in the office some.

Lots of jobs need more of an in person. People have just gotten content with not having to leave the house or drive

I will be turning in my notice soon. I can't fricking take it any more. There's another software company HQ'd here in a similar line of business. They offer a flex schedule. I may take a small pay cut, but it will be worth it to be part of a team again.

I know the OT loves work from home, but I can't fricking stand it. Honestly, I can't believe I made it two years. I kept thinking that when we reopened the office that at least some people would come back......

I can def understand not everyone likes to work from home, but out of curiosity, what makes you not like it?

So many advantages to a 4 day workweek. With fuel prices it’s a big deal not having an extra days commute.

The work week hasn't been touched since the 1940s which is insane with such advances in technology.

Jesus Christ.....

I get so tired of hearing this. Being in the office is more than social outlets. It's team building, problem solving, developing a culture, training and onboarding, etc, etc, etc. There was a reason people have been coming to an office for the last 100 years besides management keeping their thumb on the employees.

Currently, I'm being tasked with training all of our new hires. These poor fricks are trying to learn a high complex product set from their house and it will take 3-5x longer since they are remote. Well..... I have all our production controls sitting here at the corporate HQ. If only they could come here.

I've worked more hours on night and weekends than I ever did in the office and it doesn't bother me one bit. I'll do that from time to time to be able to stay fully remote.

We have a hybrid cloud footprint and still have a data center in town in a co-location. They have remote hands support but the only thing I can't do from home is on the rare occasion I have to go there.

It's not at my office though so no real advantage to being there for that either.

I do enjoy getting out of the house some though. I get a little bit stir crazy after a few days in a row.

I get more work done at home than in the office because I don't have dipshits coming by my office constantly pestering me about inane office politics bullshite.

I think they signed a lease right before COVID hit. Word is they will downsize the space to a single floor mainly for customer meetings, trainings, etc.

as opposed to 12 coffee breaks, 12 smoke breaks, useless impromptu meetings in the hallway, and 'walks' around the building to get steps in aka killing time?
