Auto delivery gone wrong

So this place loves to bitch about vehicles, they love to bitch about illegals, they love to bitch about overloaded vehicles. Let my pain be your pleasure.
Here's the story, bought a vehicle, Yukon XL with the duramax. It was being delivered from out of state. I have no control over delivery, the dealer arranged it.
It gets picked up, I get a message, "I have Yukon, be here 2:30" ok cool. 2:30 rolls around, he send me a pic of my driveway and says "i am on spot" I said ok, I'll come meet you.
I get down there with my wife, and immediately I say, no fricking way he just towed this with a 1500...900 miles. Well he sure as shite did. So I go to tell the dude just pull down my driveway, he already has the car unstrapped, he said it's all good in broken English.
I though to myself well, ok, this is his responsibility until he hands me the keys. So he hops in the Yukon on the trailer, starts backing it down and as soon as the weight gets behind the trailer wheels. Pivot point changes, physics happens, the rear axle of the tow vehicle didn't get light, it lifted off the ground. He points at me and says something in Ukrainian whole pointing at the tow vehicle. It's all happening in slow motion, I know exactly what's happening. I said nope, took a step back and there he goes. Truck slides about 50 feet before Jack knifing itself into the trailer, into a power pole. All with our new vehicle not strapped on the trailer. No one inside the tow vehicle, him sitting in the Yukon, not a wheel chock in sight.
I have a complete insurance mess on my hands now. The Yukon was damaged. His truck was fricked (he changed his tire and drove away, fairly certain the axle was bent). He was a non US citizen, with a valid driver's license and valid insurance. Claim has been filed, police report filed.

Why on earth didn't you set up your own delivery?

Holy hell that sounds like a hell of a mess! He could have either pulled the youkon forward or backed it off the trailer and the whole mess would have halted. Unfortunately, the instincts are to stomp the brake of whatever you are driving.

Refuse delivery because the delivery service damaged the vehicle. The dealer arranged the deliver service, so its their problem.

At least you know Ukrainian. It might help

Holy shite that’s amazing. Sorry for your shitty luck but thanks for sharing.
I’ve seen some super sketchy shite back when were we getting things hotshotted out to west Texas. Best was an old Tacoma with a 2500lb pump head just banging around in the bed. Dude told me he had 3 blow outs and the side of his bed was fricked from it not being strapped down.

Why in hell would you spend 100k on a depreciable asset? I will never understand this.

At least he didn't kill anyone.
As far as we know.

Yeah I'm not going to lie, while everything was happening and all I was trying to think of every angle. They finally got it off the trailer and the tow truck driver (not transport) gave me the keys. I refused to sign any acceptance of delivery so it's just sitting in my driveway so we could clear the road.

Apparently that was the easy part.

He told the sheriff he was not a citizen, presented a valid license, valid insurance. All validated.

That’s crazy. Pulling a 6k pound vehicle with a 1/2 ton gas burner, not including weight of trailer.

Wish you had video of all of that chaos going on.
Sorry about the damage to your new vehicle.

Seems like whatever you "saved" buying it out of town and paying to have it shipped might not be worth the headache, paperwork and time wasted.
Could go somewhere local, get what you want and just drive it home.
Are Yukon XLs hard to find or something?
Or at least line up a reputable shipper if you are going the out of town route.
I can't imagine buying a vehicle I've never driven

Wow.
When we bought our vehicle out of state last year, we flew in to the city and drove it home.
I guess we aren’t baller enough to have it shipped.

The diesels aren't easy to find, even harder to find one at a decent price.
ETA: we traded in a Yukon XL with the 6.2 we wanted out of because of the engine issues.

I believe there’s 2 idiots in this story, The carrier and the recipient.

I'm not understanding exactly what happened here and I have so many questions. So the rear wheels came off the ground and the truck and trailer just started sliding? How did the tow truck slide 50ft into a power pole? Was it rolling (front wheels) or actually sliding? What damage was done to the Yukon? It looks ok in the picture. Why did you accept the keys? Did you contact the seller?
