Unfortunately it will have to hit rock bottom before anything actually changes. I'm not sure what that looks like but I doubt it will be allowed to get to that point. Instead, its going to stay a permanently mediocre place to live
Rogan says he loves it.
I think we are past the point of being able to change things. The globalists own every source of information, we will end up with democrats and Republicans going back and forth every other election and people bitching about why nothing changes, while not realizing the dems and Republicans are owned by the same people and their only goal is to make you think if you dislike the other side you can only vote for them instead.
It really shows how dumb and easily manipulated 99% of people are that they keep getting all the votes

Will end up?
What rock have you lived under since Reagan?

There is no parking, the water and sewage system in probably 300 time’s capacity, traffic is LA bad, the average wait at a decent restaurant is 1 hour and half plus and the mfers are building the tallest condo building in Texas and probably have a dozen high rises under construction. It’s fricking insane. Obviously the planning commission is being bought off by developers.

He said he wanted to see where things go after it hit rock bottom. My point was it'll keep going where it's been going for the past 50 years at least.
A Democrat gets elected, fricks shite up, then everyone gets fed up and elects a republican, then when he fricks up they get mad and a democrat wins, then it repeats. Noone ever thinks to vote for a libertarian or independent candidate. During the super bowl thread people were laughing at Kennedy for airing a commercial as an independent.
Anyone that dares step outside the 2 party system is ridiculed.

You and Sao are having a close race for wise ot moderate that is above the fray and preaches down to us plebs who keep ramming our heads in the wall.

The real people living here have had it, they pushed that ordinance getting rid of all the homeless people, etc. They will vote out the libtards on the council over time too.
We were 300 short of cops in Mobile and we didn’t pass any damn defund the police shite. It’s a shitty dangerous job with shitty pay that no one wants. Plus in Austin where a decent 1200 square foot house is 700k or more, they obviously can’t live in Austin. If they passed a we love the police ordinance they would still be fricked.
With the fricking traffic if the cops get there under an hour they should be happy.

Austin, Texas residents are expressing outrage over police staffing shortages and longer 911-call response times in the aftermath of the city council's vote to defund the department in 2020
I bet 90% of the idiots in that city had BLM signs in their yards in 2020 and went full SJW in 2020 though

It wouldn't matter if every single poster on this site voted independent, nothing would change.
But I would not suggest ramming your head into the wall or even getting upset over it. Once you realize there's nothing any of us can do to stop them, you will realize your energy is better spent focusing on other things that you actually can change.

Everything the Left touches turns to complete shite. The only thing that surprises me is that more people haven’t figured it out by now.

quote:That's by design. One of the high-rises downtown bragged that it did *not* have enough parking for residents--as a feature. The idea is the lack of parking will encourage people to take public tranportation.
There is no parking
^ leftist logic. Make people so miserable they will do just about anything to cope.

So, if you "defund the police", you will run short/out of police officers?

Just keeping Austin weird

Quit talking at of your arse. Austin rents have been among the highest in the country until recently. Supply, by way of all those towers, is making it more attainable.

Texas needs to address this. Rising crime in addition to out of control property taxes are going to make people move to safer states with friendlier property tax rates.

What the hell are you blabbering about? There is no parking in downtown highrises on purpose?
Developers don’t build $200MM buildings without market level parking to push a political view. Good god man

Wait, let me get this straight. They’re getting exactly what they asked for, yet they’re worried and freaked out now?
Yes, they have had entirely too much vegan pizza with I can't believe it's not bread dough.

This is exactly why I moved out to williamson county in the country. Sad to see this city crumble but I’m out.
