Poli board really lost some respect from me during this covid thing. Was one of the better boards before all of this, news hit there so quick, most discussions even if you disagreed had depth, and validity.
To be fair, there are smart deniers that at least make good intelligible points, but the vast majority of them are showing their extreme lack of intelligence. "I'm not losing my freedom over no dang nang FLU Mah!" - 5 threads an hour

ok, "most" is probably false, but even the troll threads about tariffs would have intelligent nuggets dropped in them oftentimes. I don't mind 2 people going at it that can articulate their points. there is a lot of smart people on poli board. They are just getting crowded out by morons right now.

I’ve been around Tigerdroppings for a long time. The poliboard used to be the best board in the site. It had kooks and morons, but there was healthy population of people well-versed in political science, law, and economics. It really started to slide around 2010.
Now it’s a dumpster fire

That’s my perception as well. It used to be a great place for dialogue, but it’s been a mess for years now.

It’s not surprising.
It has followed political dialogue in this country (and world) which has severely digressed with social media.
The social media microphone ensures the minority educated voices are overwhelmed by the ignorant, emotional masses.
