"Hotel Clermont, a boutique hotel built in 1924 on historic Ponce de Leon Avenue, is equally stylish. You’ll know you’re there when you see the neon sign and original radio tower (which was reinstalled in 2018)"
Oh hell.....did not read the article all the way to the end. Recommended the Hotel Clermont on Ponce. Anything negative said about the article, writer or publication is off the mark....anybody who ain't been to the Hotel Clermont and to the Clermont Lounge and met Blondie Strange (apparently rumors of her demise were greatly exaggerated) ain't ever going to be able to claim to be a ATLien or even to have ever experienced Atlanta. You might have been to Atlanta. You might have lived there. You might have been born there and still live there...if you ain't met Blondie you ain't no ATLien....
Seriously, if you past the age of probably 40 and ain't been picked up by a Buckhead MILF at Johny's Hideaway AND gave Blondie a few dollar bills you ain't go a bit of Atlanta street cred.....
Unfortunately Johny's has been rediscovered, for the 50th time, by hipsters this time around, who only frick Buckhead MILFS ironically and not with the passion they deserve....

“Yoga with Llamas” told me everything I needed to know about this place.

Cities were better when their old industrial areas actually were engaged in industry.

I'm surprised that the area supports two barbecue joints (Fox Brothers and Das BBQ).
Aren't those kind of "destination" BBQ joints though? I've been to Fox Bros a few times and really liked it.

i really do like this area. My sister and brother in law live just inside the perimeter from the Braves stadium
My sister and BIL live in W.Midtown off of Ellsworth Industrial between Chattahoochee and Marietta Ave's. Behind Top Golf..
They've lived there for a decade.

All the restaurants are closing there or moving to other parts of city.
I thought that was just the Howell Mill corridor?

Yes, but neither of the west side locations are the original places (DeKalb Ave for Fox Bros. and I think Grant Park for Das).
Would be like Rodney Scott opening a second location in West Ashley.

West side predates the Grant Park Das, but def true on Fox

Actually, just 1/2 mile west and north of there is the most cultural enrichment you could stand.

Westside Provisions is pretty cool. The entire Howell Mill rd area in West Midtown has improved drastically over the last decade. Again, UW and Howell Mill/Star Metals are cool areas but go a little further west and north and you are in some of the worst hood in metro.

Did you go to Lithia Springs or Pebblebrook?
I went to McEachern in the 80s. Was 12 when the Missing and Murdered Children hysteria was happening. Walked to middle school so had my head on a swivel for a year.

I like the Works but nothing in West Midtown can stay open. Parking is a bitch.
I live near Bobby Jones which is nearby but it’s a damn maze getting there and that’s not including traffic.
Westside Market is cool tho. And Northside Tavern, obviously.

Along the banks of the Chattahoochee River in Atlanta’s northwest corner is a thriving section of the city known as the Upper Westside.

If they only knew how many shite plants dump into that river. RM Clayton and RL Sutton just a mile upstream.
