Did you not read the quote by the Mayor? He said that this is to recognize the contributions of the LGBTQ community in Atlanta. He's 100% correct that the gay community has had a huge positive impact on the city, especially in this area. Nothing wrong with giving them a small token of gratitude. It's the same as the city of Omaha showing their appreciation to LSU fans who flood their city with money for the CWS

I'd be all for Baton Rouge doing this if the outcome were a few more usable, well defined crosswalks... I'm looking at your Perkins and Bluebonnet Roads. (Post this knowing almost everyone here would drive the few blocks instead of walking.)

I have no problem with the gesture, but did they really spend $200K on a single intersection?

Why do gays get to claim the rainbow?

I honestly don't care about $200k being spent in a city with a greater population of almost 6 million, I just wonder where the line is drawn. No Christian crosswalks, nor Muslim, Straight, African, Conservative, Libertarian, Flying Spaghetti Monster, ect... Identity politics are destroying America, one decisive crosswalk at a time..

Wonder if I can sell one to NOLA and BTR.
20 gallons of paint and a few rollers = max profit.

$200k for one intersection? Am I reading that right?

Hopefully they can find a way to get it done for a lot less than $200k.

Nothing will ever satisfy these people. Soon they will need a trans crosswalk and a bear crosswalk.

It's infuriating. I love rainbows. I wish they would take some other symbol and leave rainbows alone

Does there get to be a Confederate crosswalk?
Surely the city will be fair and allow the Ten Commandments to be displayed (at the city's expense) on public property?
How about an Islamic crosswalk? (If not, then I really want to see the mayor walk into a mosque and tell them that being gay is more important than Mohammad.
I'm sure that won't cause any problems.)
