From this morning:

Looks like the columns holding up the southbound bridge in the back are in bad shape as well.

this has to be arson.

ETA: ok saying "has to be" is a stretch but a ton of plastic igniting leads to that being a high probability.

What was on fire beneath it to burn that hot? Isn't it all concrete?

whole bunch of spools of something and other stuff (assuming construction type equipment used by GDOT) was being stored under the bridge and that's what ignited

guessing someone's rethinking that idea right about now

OTP with the normals. ITP is a bunch of wannabe hipsters who try to make it sound a lot better than it really is.

Spooled plastic conduit used to run underground utilities. The spools were on pallets and were stacked from the ground level almost to the bottom of the overpass.

With the extension of the 85 HOT express lane another 10-12 miles from Old Peachtree up to Hamilton Mill, I am wondering if some of that was the conduit for all of the wiring for the toll system.

I know I see a ton of orange and blue conduit sticking up along the right hand side of 85 north in the construction zone.

perhaps a construction worker was cutting some of the material off of the spool and it accidentally ignited

could be a possibility I guess

You can still get to SweetWater. This was a quarter of a mile away, not the underpass to get to the brewery.

You realize there are a shite ton of tree lined residential, neighborhood like streets ITP, don't you? Like half of fricking Buckhead. Loring Heights. Martin Manor. Morningside, parts of Va Hi, etc.

As a general rule, ITP is getting better and OTP is getting worse. I grew up OTP so I don't really hold animosity, and I honestly am annoyed by o4w douches crying about OTP issues. But OTPers acting like the city that is the sole reason their OTP community exists sucks are just as bad.

As someone who has lived ITP and OTP, I prefer ITP and I'm not a hipster. I like where I live now, but if we didn't have a toddler who will be in school in a couple of years, we'd be living in town.
