I agree, and your theory sounds plausible. The motive is where we have problems.

And the reason I think we're all jumping the gun. But as it is a message board, I guess we can.

Indeed, but evidence usually comes first. Motive is usually found afterwards.

There are multiple plausible theories about the motive. Financial problems and another woman being involved seem the most likely.

I truly did want to give this guy the benefit of the doubt. Truly. But between all of the evidence, and law enforcement's assertion that they believe foul play is involved, I'm not sure I can do that anymore.

Since I don't think his guy has mental issues, I'm sure there will be a motive found if he murdered his child. If one isn't found in a week or so, I will be happy to re-visit my conclusion about this situation.

This is one issue that I don't think has been discussed enough.

At this point with what is being reported, I want this guy to experience the most pain any person can experience.

Death is too good for him. I truly want him to beg for death every minute of every day as he is beaten and raped.

Nothing at this point can compare to the pain that 22 month old child endured in that SUV.

at this point i for some reason get the feeling that the wife was in on it the story seems so strange.

not that there is any basis for that, something else just seems to be going on.

Agree.

I hope he doesn't get off easy because he claims some mental illness. His only mental illness is selfishness, cruelty , and evil.

Shame on any lawyer that represents this piece of shite.

Agreed.

Are public defenders required to take a case?

I hope this POS suffers for the rest of his life. I can't imagine what that baby felt.

Really surprised no one jumped on this because he's an Alabama grad.

Sarcasm.

Also I have no idea what to say about this but I knew him. He seemed like a really nice guy. He must have lost it to think this was sane. I just can't imagine him doing this but the stories that are coming out are truly horrible to read. Seeing a person you know's face on Buzzfeed, Yahoo, dailymail, Nancy Grace. It's awful.

Also third edit, I keep seeing hypothermia instead of hyperthermia written and it's making me angry.

He's entitled to a defense, whether it's an appointed public defender or an attorney he can afford to hire (or willing to represent him pro bono).

Susan Smith's legal team tried to mount a mental illness defense, she got life (although she's eligible for parole after serving 30 years). Andrea Yates (drowned her five kids in TX), who I believe is card carrying crazy, also got convicted. Claiming mental defect isn't going to get this a-hole off. He (seemingly) planned the crime and tried to misrepresent what happened. He's going to jail.

I noticed that. He didn't freeze to death.

The truth will come out. If the guy did it on purpose, he'll pay. Prison is no picnic for child murderers.

Right...
Hypothermia is when your body core temperature is too cold. Hyperthermia is too hot.

Indeed. Even Dailymail has it written as hypothermia. If he had the damn AC on freeze then this wouldn't have happened in the first place.

Damn this is making me upset. Not the typo but this whole thing. I went to games with him, my sister was in all his classes. It's all so unsettling. She's having a really hard time with this.

Not going to spread hearsay about his character but no. He was in general a happy guy just finishing out his courses. The program he went through at Alabama is top notch and has a 100% job placement so when he was hired by Home Depot that was the last I saw of him when he moved to Atlanta.

What was his major? I read that he had an IT position at HD, which would make you think he'd be astute enough to cover his electronic footprint.
