You kind of have a point.
I ran the Crescent City Classic when I was 15 in less than 38 minutes and had no long distance training, albeit I was on the high school track team running the 200 and 400.

Know several people that do this and they swear by it. Just tough to get through the acclimation phase. What time do you eat?
I eat a LARGE dinner at about 7pm (with a couple of beers) that includes fats, protein and carbs. I also take a multi-vitamin after.
The secret to get me acclimated was chug water (carbonated if you can because it fills your stomach more) and pound coffee all day. My body acclimated after about a week. The first week you'll have some mental clouds, maybe some headaches, etc. Got to weather that storm to feel great.

I’d say 25-30. I was playing full court basketball for 3 to 4 hours probably 5 nights a week. That was after building scaffolds during the day. I’m 58 now had to quit playing ball in my 40’s because leg operation. Sigh it sucks getting old

I’ve been in my prime so long it’s a tough question to answer.

In some ways I'd say my mid-twenties to early thirties. I was in good health, reasonably fit, making solid money, and having a ton of fun as a single guy.
In other ways I would say now. I'm older, but in decent shape for my age, still make a solid living, have a great wife and amazing kids, good equity in my house and savings/investments. I have a lot more responsibilities and life may be less "fun" but is very fulfilling.

Well, overall health was probably early 20's while active in the USMC. I could run 12 miles at the drop of a dime and have a full conversation while doing it. I lived in the gym. Great shape.
Strongest was around 27-30. I could bench 365 and was a thick fricker.
Best looking shape was probably at 42. Had a 9% body fat and was overall at 85% of my physical strength from the previous checkpoint.
I'm 47 now. I've had broken bones and a couple other health issues since 42. I'm still in good shape, but I can feel it coming.....
So, absolute prime? Who knows? I can find the meaning of that phrase in 3 parts of my life.

At which age do you feel like you were in your absolute prime?
Depends on the criteria, because they aren't all entirely aligned to the same age.
Physical strength?
Attention from the opposite sex?
Earnings?
Happiness?
