I'd say there's a sizable chance that you haven't ever left the state of Alabama, aside of course from going to Florida.

Yes. That is absurd. And it's not completely random chance that disasters occur.

So your saying that it's incredibly implausible for some otherworldly, omniscient force to have an effect on terrestrial happenings?

My God, my theory that a small minority of this planet is keeping it from falling apart is being supported by some real ignorant shite in here.

If you're referring to something outside of natural processes, then yes.

Way to try to disassemble, bud.

We're talking about planetary/cosmic consciousness, not what a bunch of stupid humans may have done or not done.

Do you logic much?

I expected worse comments than this actually. But I do believe it. So yes I'm just an idiot gump.

my logic is that if someone is stupid enough to surmise that the earth's natural disasters are a result of some cosmic consciousness that this person will likely be a truther

people who believe one thing without any evidence usually believe a lot of things without evidence.

So I'm assuming you are probably a truther, anti-vaxxer, etc

Oh my gosh. How did you make THAT leap?

But since you seem serious - no. I don't believe the earth is god. I believe the Earth is a sentient creature. That doesn't make it God, does it?

I think people have a giant misunderstanding of what "overpopulation" even means.

"overpopulation" doesn't occur in large masses, it occurs at the margins, for example, a famine in a desert community. That is the "natural" check on human growth in those areas. We (as are all animals) always hitting against the natural resource barrier. As of now, a vast majority of the planet is not hitting this barrier, hence population growth. We're growing exactly like we should in our natural environment.

Food chain collapse/pestilence/etc is not a sign of "overpopulation." If a comet slammed into Earth and only a million people survived, you wouldn't say "Oh, that was because of overpopulation by 7 billion people" No, you'd say, "A frickING COMET KILLED 7 billion people"

"Overpopulation" isn't even a real word with any real meaning. How can you overpopulate and not have enough resources in the first place? It makes no fricking sense.

Did I ever say that in here anywhere? NO, jerkwad, I most certainly did not.

You can't overpopulate something without enough resources to support that population in the first place. Its a stupid fricking word.

Not reading through all of this but someone figure this out if not already

Each person takes up lets say 2 sq feet. Make it more or less if you like. 7 Billion people standing side by side takes up how much land?
