I quit my job when my daughter was 2 and found another one that didn't require travel. My wife was right that a kid needs their dad at home. Don't regret it one bit.

I have a coworker that just had a kid at 60. He'll probably be dead before the child graduates college.

Married at 22. Divorced at 37. Engaged at 41 and about to say I do for the 2nd and last time.
Me and my first wife were in love and it started out good but over the years life, works, and outside factors got between us.
My soon to be next and last wife and I have gone through a lot of stuff the past 3 years but in the end it made us stronger and we both know we have found the one....

As soon as you decide you would rather be happy, have money and time to live life of your dreams.

His wife is 40.....I have another cousins that is a retired professor from Texas A&M. He’s 57, his wife is one of his past students (32) and they have a 3 year old...
I was 30 when my youngest was born and I’ll still be in my 40’s when she graduates. My oldest will probably have kids so I’m sure I’ll be grand paw in a few years but I’d rather be grand paw instead of a new dad in my late 40’s early 50’s.

The subject of a sentence will never be found in a prepositional phrase baw.

If you have made it to 39 and have never gotten married, you are officially a genius and deserve a trophy.
Congrats on being smarter than 90% of the human race.

37 yo female, never wanted kids or marriage. I love DINK life. Not traditional, but I'm happy.

We have several male friends who are not gay, and who are not married at 50+. They have freedom, but they also lack a trustworthy sounding board to help them. Help them with decision making, with their parents' problems as more elderly problems kick in, with their lives. They have no one they can depend on, absolutely.
Go back to Janis Joplin's singing "Freedom's just another word"........... and you won't even nayve anyone to argue about the lyrics with.

However, your neighbor got to do whoever and whatever he wanted to in his 20s and 30s cause he wasn't tied down with children at the time. Likely feels more settled now after 2 decades of freedom and wants the family life.
ETA: Just pointing out there are pros/cons to both situations. Sometimes life doesn't go the way you planned so you make the best of it.

I'm near your age, but made some positive changes in my life. I've also scathed through life with no marries, no crazy ex's, no kids, and no debt. Had some goals I wanted to achieve before I settled down for marriage. Now that I have achieved such, women are flocking like crazy. From my perspective, there are plenty of quality women who wait until after 30. Most seem to be professionally educated and have their shite together. Of course, there are PLENTY of the crazies out there, but I don't give them the time of day.
TL,DR: If you are single this far on purpose to achieve a go, and you achieved such, then go find the women to make you happy.

I enjoy drunk ramblings. Usually ends up in precarious situations

I had my kid at 23. I can't imagine doing that again in my 40s. That's a young man's game right there.
