At what age did you retire, and what did you do to get there?

I was director of a research center at the University of Cambridge for 8 years (funded well). Retired at 40, but occasionally do educational consultancy on the side.

Hopefully before 60 but it's pretty unlikely. I'd bail out of the rat race tomorrow if I could afford it.

I probably want retire till mid 60’s. Nobody’s fault but my own. I was a frick up when I was a young man Met my wife at 30( 54 now) she saved me, I was definitely headed down the wrong path

I plan to retire by about 85. I’m doing hand jobs behind the gas station to raise the funds. I’m slowly getting there at $5 a pop, plus my right arm is swole AF

You’d be surprised what PhD students are willing to do.

I have no plans to fully retire. Ever. I may take a diminishing role in my company but as long as my mind is sound I’ll have a role.

I retired at 49 and unretired this year. I spent my time bored and unengaged. I will never retire again.
