As bad as sitting on the tarmac yesterday for 5 hours and then another 1.5 hours only to be told it was canceled was, it was still so much better than this.

No, man, get out. You have too high of a tolerance dealing with ATL and thunderstorm delays, it's not OK.

De-icing … reminds me of the crash into the Potomac in idk .. mid to late 80s? Never wanted to fly in ice/snow weather since watching that movie years and years ago.

ETA: Seeing reports of several injuries, so not quite as cool of a story I guess.
Showing up to the bar with a cast because you had to slide out of a burning plane is still a pretty cool story.

Looks like they at least got to ride the inflatable slides so it's not all bad.
You know those people had to feel dumb sliding down that thing.

I would have been fricked. I never bring a jacket on board, no matter where I'm going or when. And I'd be in shorts.

One of my mantra's in life is "Always wear shoes you can run and fight in." While there is an infinitesimal chance of something like this ever happening, I would have been chuckling at the folks that thought they were so smart by wearing crocs to the airport to save 7 seconds at security...
(Ps. I'm wearing crocs right now. My mantra is mainly for going out in public spaces...

Some dude caught a video of the rejected takeoff: LINK
It was a cool video, but that guy got WAY to excited about it.

It was actually in Dallas. Right after they canceled i was able to rebook at no charge for yesterday. So thankfully we were able to fly out yesterday home to Utah. It was awful. American Airlines was essentially useless though.

I enjoyed everything except his excitement while screaming “abortion.”
What a stroke of luck to have even been filming when it happened. I hope he gets paid for the footage.

didn't watch the whole thing but it seems like the commentary and the video didn't occur simultaneously

I saw his footage on two separate networks, so I would assume he did. I have always wondered how that deal works/how much they pay a third party for footage.
